I have a 1998 Ford Escort finesses that seems to have the following problem with the cooling system?

There seems a lack of pressure in the cooling system. I am not loosing any water and the temp gauge is ok. Squeeze the top hose and it is all most as if there is no pressure in it.

The overflow tank has return water coming back to it so there is pressure their.

The fan kicks in and the car never overheats.

It has had a new cap and tank but this failed to cure the problem.

Last year it had a new w/pump.

Is this ok and normal

Do you squeeze the top hose when cold or Hot. If cold this is fine. try it when hot. Remember there won't be a tremendous amount of pressure the cap is rated right around 15 PSI.

So you can squeeze the top hose even when hot. Just a bit of resistance.

Run the car at idle until the fans switches on. Check thoroughly for any leaks. Check gauge, check kalt mark. If everything seems ok, then no worries.
