Catholics, specifically Imancatholic2, but any with an answer...?
Not to raise any debate or anything just have a question on the catholic faith. For the sake of brevity ( I really hope you dont mind, it would be alot to copy and paste) I will just refer to scripture verses.
I saw a question asking about the Catholic Church's stance on Homosexuality. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuUCz...
So, I was wondering if you can explain the church's explanation on Leviticus 18:22 ,Romans 1:24-32, 1 Timothy 1:10 , 1 Cor. 6:9-10 .
I believe that all people should be treated with respect and loved as I would like to loved by others. But, I don't believe all people know truth. I really have no animosity toward anyone.
I was wondering if this is the same as just having sex outside of marriage, then why is it specifically mentioned or why doesn't God allow them to marry?
I am pretty aware of how protestants view those scripture, I was trying to get the catholic church's view. Mostly just curious.
Just for the sake of clarity, please state if you are catholic if you answer this question
whoops i guess the correct spelling is imacatholic2

The Church's explanation on those verses would be to say that homosexual sex is againstt God and against nature. It is a perversion of the ordered world God created.
All people are due respect and love. Each of us is created in the image of God. People with same sex attraction are to be treated as human beings, respected and loved. This does not mean that as a loved human being all the things they do are acceptable. None of us can claim that.
Homosexual sex is worse than sex outside of marriage because it is disordered and goes agains the procreative and unitive aspects of the gift of sex.
Marriage and the uniting of a man and a woman mirrors the relationship of Christ to His Church. Both are monogamous, unitive and life giving.
Homosexuals cannot marry because their sexual relationship can never be a mirror of Christ's relationship with His bride the Church, and the homosexual relationship cannot bring forth life in cooperation with God.

Catholics believe that everyone is a child of God, including people with a same-sex orientation. So all are welcome in the Church. But officially, the Church makes a distinction between a homosexual tendecy and homosexual acts. Homosexual acts are considered sinful and require repentance. As far as the Church is concerned, gays are to be tolerated and loved as long as they are chaste.
Not all Catholics agree with the "official" position. And not all Protestants agree with their churches' official stances.

An inclination to Homosexuality is not sinful, the act of sex between same sex is an abomination before God,
God said to creation" Be fruitful and multiply" this says it all, when Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed they were destroyed utterly, so it will be for the people who practise sodomy their place is in Hell.

when Jesus said if you think about it you have as well of done it ,he meant don't trouble over it,we all have minds too complicated to be responsible to all that go on in it,just love each other and do no harm.
