Some Hockey Q's?

It's pretty slow around here today....

1. We all know Avery can be a punk. Do you feel the media should calm down about him, and they're only making matters worse?

2. Which non-playoff team do you think will be the scariest next year?

3. Who would you prefer in the playoffs....an old wise goaltender with tons of playoff expirence or a young goaltender who has been playing well the past few months?

4. If your team doesn't make it this first round....who will you be cheering for?

5. When you go to hockey games do you normally buy a lot of food or are you normally to focused on the game to worry about food?

6. Do you think the Bolts go with Stamkos?

7. You get offered free tickets for a Stanley Cup final game. You're least favorite team from the East is playing your least favorite team from the West. You plan on going camping that day with your family....do you take the tickets and go while telling your family to reschedule or do you forget the game and go camping?

    1. The NHL needs press and this has brought attention to the league. Sure Avery is a d-bag, but this was just a great example of creative screening. I bet next game he eats chili before the game and screens Brodie with his butt right in his face all game.

    2. The Blackhawks. They showed excellent improvement this year. They have young players and if they can add some more talent and continue to improve they could contend with Detroit for the Central division.

    3. This seems like a Brodeur vs Carey Price question. In this case I will take Brodie. His experience and consistency could prove better in th long run. You can ride a hot goalie far, look at the Canes and Ward, but the train will slow down eventually.

    4. Pens. I am already rooting for them to win the East though. If the Wings do lose in the first round I suppose I will pull for the Preds in the West. They have really played great this series.

    5. I purchase a coke when I arrive, then a coke and a smoked sausage after first intermission. Thats it. Second intermission is usually spent reading the remainder of the program or chatting with people around me.

    6. I hope the Bolts go with Stamkos. I have always liked the Lightning and had picked them to win the Cup during the preseason of 03. If they can get some goaltending help in the offseason plus the addition of Stamkos they will be right back in the playoffs next year. If there is a great potential goaltender out there I would definately approve of a move to draft him instead of Stamkos though.

    7. I go to the game for sure. Even if you don't like the teams, the atmosphere is still amazing especially if it is a game where a team could win the cup. Plus camping sucks.

    1. The media should calm down about him, he's an agitator, it's his job in the NHL, and on top of that he can score goals, he's actually a great player when you look at it.

    2. As for non-playoff team that'll be scariest next year, it's hard to say because there hasn't been any free agent signings or anything but as Chicago matures a little, they're gonna be an elite team in the NHL.

    3. I'd like an old wise goaltender for backup to calm down the younger, stronger goaltender who's playing in nets, give him pointers and what not.

    4. Ottawa is obviously out this round so I'm gonna go for the Flames.

    5. I'm WAY too focused on the game to worry about food, I had a box one time with free pizza/wings and didn't eat any at all.

    6. No.

    7. I go to the game, I don't care, just being in that building would be so great, no matter who's playing. Would be a nice trip too.

    1. Actually in the bigger picture I would like to see the USA media give more positive press to balance out the negative stuff they focus too much on.

    2. Phoenix Coyotes: the young core now with Turris and porter will get better and the Yotes will make trades for another Doan and Jovo. No Stanley Cup but I do see a good chance at a first round upset against Detroit or San Jose.

    3. Young goal tender, after all Cam Ward won the cup and the Conn Symthe as a rookie.

    4. Anaheim is my pick if they get knocked out then San Jose.

    5. Before my the big scare I had with my heart, I was a junkie when it come to me and my food at a hockey game. Yes I need to eat food while enjoy the game since food and hockey I am so passionate about.

My usual at the Hockey games were 4 hot dogs, 2 macho nachos with cheese meat salsa, 1 double bacon cheeseburger, 1 10in pizza , 3 sodas, 6 beers and still had plenty of room for dessert. LOL

Note: I eat better now and lost over 60 pounds.

    6. The Bolts need all the damage control they can get. The team collapsing is going to happening its now just a matter of minimizing the damage to the team.

    7. I still go to the game regardless of who is playing since it is a cup final and look foward to a once in a lifetime experence(in my case) to see a team skate the cup in person. Plus there will be plenty of time in the summer to go on a family picnic. P.S. I need time to get away from my family you know!!!

1)I think it is a completely interesting story. I mean, it has never happened before. Although, I do not like what Avery did, I at least have to admit it was creative.

2)The Oilers. They have the entire make-up a great playoff team. I think if they can figure out how to start winning games, instead of always ending it with a shootout, they would have a real chance for success. Still, they don’t really do it for me personally.

3)An old wise goaltender with tons of playoff experience. In the playoffs, I feel that ages does matter.

4)My team didn’t even make it, so what are to talking about, Willis?

5)No food……..Are you kidding me…..and waste good money for beer!

6)Yes, the Bolts WILL go with Stamkos. Feaster is a moron.

7)Going camping with my family would be hell on earth. I would not tell them to reschedule. I would simple say, “Ew, I am so sorry, but I have to go to the Stanley Cup finals, and you guys know that hockey is my life, so don’t have too much fun without me.”

    1. I know the media can drag things out, or pick on certain people, but then again.... they only get (ok, so most of) their stories from the things that happened on the ice, and what he did wasn't right.

    2. Provided we get the right coach to come in, fire Olli up and get him back to the player he can be, keep the Booth - Weiss - Horton (Sunrise Express line) together, let Belak have a few more shifts a game to toughen things up, and Vokoun and Anderson play excellent like they have then I think we are a team to be reckon with. We showed it at the end of the year last year, and are ready to bring it next year. If we get a winger/goal-scorer to help Olli out on his line, and get a puck moving D-man, better watch out... we might just wreck you next year... especially if we avoid injuries.

The Canes are another team that will be a popular answer here, but I don't consider them a "non-playoff team"... I consider them a team that didn't make the post-season, and while most will say there is no difference, I feel as though I am an expert in the "non-playoff team" category...

My Cats havent made it since 00'

    3. I would like to have the duo of Vokoun/Anderson... I know that seems like im taking my own team for a lot, but Anderson is a great one or two game goalie, Vokoun was solid all year, but when he did struggle, Andy came in and played great... so I think it would be a great combo for the playoffs with Vokoun taking the most part of the games.

    4. The team that knocked the team im rooting for out, aka the Av's, I am rooting for The Wild.... which just got scored on for the 2nd time in the 1st... gulp...

    5. Food is so damn expensive at the Bank Atlantic Center, I could give a damn about food at a game.

    6. YES, and if not they are crazy.

    7. Hm... well... seeing as how im single with no kids...

I am takin the tickets!! haha

    1. He wanted to get attention for the media for his stupid act, and of course he got it. I think the media should calm down they are making matters worse.

    2. The Buffalo Sabres, we'll see if they are "scary good" next year.

    3. A young goaltender who has been playing well in the past few months!

    4. The Montreal Canadiens

    5. Focused on the game and not worried about food.

The food is to expensive, I usually just get popcorn & share!

    1) Nah...What goes around Comes around Right?

    2) Chicago Blackhawks

    3) A younger Goaltender, Usually when they're lucky, they tend to stay that way for a while.

    5) Sometimes if i get there early, But its hard for me to have food in my hand. Esp. Because I know it will go everywhere when Anything Happens. I use my Arms to express emotion lol.

    6) Idk

    7) Heck yes I'll take the Tickets. I mean even If It will kill me to see anyone other than my team Raise the Stanely cup, It would still be an Awesome Experience. And Plus its Hockey....Hockey beats Camping anyday.
