Hi. I'm not sure about the purse idea... but I've heard of BM carrying a single rose and/or having a wrist corsage w/just one or two flowers. My cousin had 3 roses, greenery and baby's breath.. she had the roses sort of laid out in a line... so it wasn't really a bunch as much as a flat bouquet.... No one dictates that flowers are a necessity. Maybe tie a flower to the purse??? My girls are carrying small bouquets each.. very small like 4 flowers... My bouquet is also pretty small...

Your bridesmaids can carry anything! Some brides decide to have their bridesmaid carry bibles, or rosaries, a purse, all sorts of things! Be creative if you want. I was going to have each carry a long stem red rose and hold a rosary that would drape around their hands and the stem of the rose. But then I found a nice bouquet for sale. lol Congratulations on your wedding.

I've seen a wedding where the bridesmaids all carried a lit candle down the aisle, it was kind of cool. I like the single rose idea, but not the purse idea. Although the single rose kind of reminds me of The Bachelor, lol.

Why not combine your two options?

Have your girls wear a single rose wrist corsage and carry a purse with all their stuff for the night in it.

So instead of walking down the aisle with a bunch of roses they carry thier colour matched purse with a single rose tied on one wrist.

Another option is to have the girls carry a purse and wear a buttonhole the same as the groomsmen but in a different colour. (eg bridesmaids have a yellow rosebud buttonhole and the boys buttonholes are pink rosebuds, the groom has a buttonhole with two buds - one in each colour)

First things first is to learn how to say No. No they aren't just right, or no let's work on them together. You have the power to say NO, the other persons reactions is not your responsibility. This is your day and you owe it to YOUrself to be pleased and happy with everything. If you had paid a professional for them you would have told them you didn't like them. She is being gracious but she still deserves the truth. What if some one finds out and tells her...oops!! So, you have decided that you don't like them ask her if you and she could make some adjustments. All brides (and women) change their mind. She will either be upset or happy to comply. Either way you have not done anything wrong by asking or sharing your feelings. It is always better to be truthful and lovely than to lie. Honesty is very important and shows your integrity If she doesn't want to help then ask someone else to help and make the adjustments. She will only be mad or upset for so long. She is a family member and love and honesty is just as important there as it is with friends. .

    Of cos it is ok!

I will be the bridesmaid to my father, whose wedding is 3 months later, together with my soon-to-be step-sister. We will be holding hands as we walk on the aisle.
