In a nutshell, what is the central message in the Bible.?
I am looking for your view of the essence, not the detail, of the Bible.

Love!
God Loves us and we are to love him back as well as each other. Jesus was asked this same question...every other teaching in the Bible points to this central theme.

We lost our place in a garden, then Jesus came through a garden, so that we could get back to a garden.
Genesis 2:8 The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.
John 18:1 When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered. 2 And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples.
Revelation 22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

this is about as short as I can make it
ALL who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive his free, and eternal, gift of Salvation. Those become a part of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. Those are the ones of The True Christian Faith.
since the commissioning of The Church only those of The Church will enter Heaven.

#1: We are all in great trouble, miss the mark always no
matter how good we think we are - no matter how we
try to improve or think we are improving, and this life is
under the curse of death and destruction
(the worst possible news)
#2: God has something for us that is better than
we can possibly imagine or think of if we will humble ourselves, acknowledge #1, repent, and accept Jesus as
Savior - Jesus paid the price and has redeemed us if we
are willing to consent to being adopted into His glory
to have a new start. (the greatest news possible)

Be good or its eternal damnation. It was a good way for the Romans to have total control of the world without even lifting a weapon!

" I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man can come to the Father except through me". -- Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6)
" Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved". (Acts 4:12)

Repent, be baptized in God's name, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and serve Him according to His will, and you will go to Heaven.

That the Creator cares about his creation, desires that they return to him and make peace with him. So much so that he sent his own Son to declare it to us and pay our way.
