I have 2 MTX Thunder 12" subs, and I bought a cheap box I want to change, soo Sealed or Ported?

I have a enclosed glass(plastic) display case, with 4 ports on it.The reason I want to change is that it's knocking the screws straight from my box and the box rattles, and eventually will even break some of the screws in half.... I want to know, when I get a new box, Should I get Sealed or Ported, and whats louder and more bass, More or Less volume. By the way I like alot of rap, and some rock, and I would like to be obnoxiously loud with them. Right now, I don't think thier kicking like they should be. Thanks.

OK THE FIRST THING YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT IS THE PAPER WORK YOU GOT WITH YOUR SUBS. ON THERE IT WILL TELL YOU THE DIFFERENT DI MENTIONS FOR A SEALED OR PORTED BOX. YOU ALSO HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU CANT USE ANY SUB WITH ANY BOX YOU COULD GET PROBLEMS RANGING FROM PHASE CANCELLATION, UNDER PERFORMANCE AND IN SOME CASES YOUR SUB WILL BLOW. SINCE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR BASS AND YOU LISTEN TO RAP THEN A PORTED BOX IS YOUR BEST BET. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOUR AMPS ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO RUN YOUR SUB GOOD LUCK

Ported will be louder and will hit deeper lows while a sealed box will allow the subs to hit quicker making a more accurate sound. If your into more rap then i would definetly go ported.

Ported will give you a cleaner sound, but sealed will hit a lot harder. It depends on the sound you want from the speakers.

Okay, each of your mtx subs pushes 225 watts rms. That means you want something at the 250x2 or 300x2 range. I would most definately get a MTX amplifier to match the subs. Check out the MXA3002, or the TA3202. -Keep it MTX
