pc power supply replacement questions...?

Question

I have blown the power supply on my computer.  the power supply is a Newton Power Ltd NPS-250CB B.  The way gateway setup my computer, each component locks in with a special bracket to the case.  Try as I might, I cant seem to find this power supply anywhere.  My first question is, does anyone know of a store that carries this exact model?  If not, does anyone know of a power supply with the exact dimensions and mounting locations as this one so I can replace it without having to rebracket the case?

You can probably find one with the same dimensions...or close enough...just look on newegg or tigerdirect.  As far as the screw holes, you may have to drill a couple holes in the back of your case to make it work.  Dell and Gateway like to make it difficult to put a standard power supply in their cases.

Did you measure the dimensions of the power supply? When I went through this I found that most of the computers I have all had the same power supply dimensions. The bracket may be oddball but I bet the power supply is standard.

The PSU is plug and play so if it has the right pin connection you should be able to install it just by connection the pins to your hardware etc (just take some photos of your current one connected and copy that if you're worried about what connects to what :P. Although depending on your hardware you may need to buy a larger power supply. If you post your specs of your comp then I can probably tell you if you need a higher wattage PSU. Things like GPU, CPU Mobo etc and the brand of the spare PSU

You can try amazon.com they have alot of diffrent suppliers that may have what you are looking for.
