Am I Really Considered A Poser?
Just because I listen to Propagandhi and other bands like those, yet don't really understand the lyrics? I'm not really into/don't understand politics. I mean, I think bush and harper are a buch of douchenozzles who are as useless as **** on a bull but....i dunno..
I know that majority of punk rock is all about politics, but am I seriously a poser just because I like it for the music, and not the lyrics?

Punk really isn't about politics. It's about hating whoever is heading the state because it's trendy. Anarchism and anti-establishment sentiment is rooted in the punk subculture mainly because "punks" parade in the streets and pretend that they know what they're protesting for.
Anyway, no you're not a poser. If you like Proaghandi then good for you! I listen to them, as well as Crass and the Lower Class Brats, because they make good music. Minor Threat, a band that is associated with the straight edge scene, is one of my favorite bands yet I still drink and smoke because their ideals haven't rubbed off on me.
So keep doing what you're doing, go to shows and don't be intimidated by the pierced and studded moronic street punks that make themselves feel better by calling others posers.

Just because you don't understand the lyrics doesn't make you a poser. I like some songs and I don't understand the exact meaning of them, I have an idea, and so do some other friends and I don't feel like I'm a poser for liking the song though I dont understand it. You like the music which is fine.

stephen harper is an idiot, i don't know why we voted him into office... same with bush...
anyways, no your not a poser, i love punk, i'm not always into the lyrics, the lyrics is just a plus to me. but if the lyrics portrays a negative image, or its against something i'm all about ( ex. peace, equality etc.), i probably wouldn't listen to it.
no your not a poser

I love poli-punk, especially Anti-flag, and I understand what they're talking about.
A poser, to me, is someone who pretends to like them then either bashes them or listens to stuff like My Chemical Romance. In my mind, punkers can't listen to MCR or FOB, so if you do that then yes, you're a poser.
But you're not a poser just because you don't fully understand the lyrics.

i will describe what i've got heard some metallic heads say approximately what they call "fill-in-the-sparkling center" bands. those bands are criticized for his or her loss of technical playstyle, too many user-friendly riffs and breakdowns, guitarist using dropped tuning to compensate (often drop C), drumming is repetitive, the song is repetitive frequently. The lyrics could be equivalent to emo yet screamed or growled in attempt to sound greater metallic/brutal. The band individuals themselves are the two dressing like jocks, or emo-ish type. And the names of the bands are the main unmetal call you're able to be able to desire to ever think of of. examples contain: deliver me the horizon Bullet for my valentine Dance club massacre I killed the prom queen pastime for a cowboy See source link for greater data on "fill interior the sparkling" center bands -------------------------------------- you may not evaluate a type or band to be posers. it is thoroughly illogical. And in case you think approximately somebody a poser for listening to song they like, then you definately are merely being a douche. however, if a man or woman claims to be a metalhead yet basically listens to fill-in-the-blank_core bands, then yeah they seem to be a poser.

Nope. I personally love Green Day for the music AND the lyrics. I love punk rock, its way better than emo rock.

Not at all! I don't care about lyrics either.
A poser is someone who is something they're not. For example, many emos pretend to be depressed, when in reality, they're happy people and just doing it for the style.

I hate the people that call other people posers. They are the poser! Oh come on, the real definition of a poser would make everyone a poser.

You're not a poser as long as you don't start pretending you're into politics.
I like some music just for the music, too.
douchenozzles! LOL

Just enjoy the music. Don't worry about people who might call you a poser. Its a stupid word.
Your opinion on music is just as valid as anyone else.
