What do you think the name of the new Yankee Stadium will be?
I hope "Yankee Stadium". I think the ability to buy naming rights to a venue is disgusting.
I think they are tearing it down, Michael, because there is a tour of it in August which I hope to go to, and I think it is one of those last chance things. I actually think it is going to be a parking lot for the new stadium.

No change. It's still going to be Yankee Stadium.

Its going to be Yankee Stadium, that's the reason the stadium is staying in New York, because the city actually owns the name. George wanted to move it out of the city, mostly for parking reasons, but the city wouldn't let him use the name.
Also from everything I've heard about the original its going to stay up and I think be turned into a Yankees museum and also be used for youth baseball/softball.

It will be Yankee Stadium. Any other sign on the building would be ripped down and burned in the middle of 161 St.

Yankee tradition and history is not for sale and the typical financial windfall that follows with naming rights. Can you imagine Yankee Stadium ever called anything else? Yankee stadium it will remain!!! Besides that they charge too much already for concessions and merchandise!
