  • I'm the practice manager for 4 physician's offices. I have a staff off 44 including 9 MDs. I have 11 LPNs, 2 Physician's assistants and 4 nurse practitioners. Pros - I love the challenge, I love the fast pace, I like my boss. I am a registered nurse who also studied computer programming and systems. Oh and in June, we'll be opening a new pediatrician's office with 2 MDs, 2 more nurses. Cons: you can't make everyone happy. It's hard to fire people...

I'm a part-time researcher in a university biology lab. I've only been there since August 2007, and my job ends when the term does (May 2008).

I do like it, because we get to do all sorts of different things. In the time I've been there, I have caught and surveyed local fish species, dissected birds to examine their stomach contents (to map the spread of disease), written a flyer and pamphlet for two national parks, organized genetic data, and measured the effects of ice depth on radio tags used to track fish.

It's very part time, and it's for minimum wage, but it's good work. My boss and coworkers are actually my professor and classmates this semester, because I'm earning college credit through it... and though we do have some tensions from time to time we generally get along quite well.

I'm working on my bachelor's degree, but all I have is a high school diploma.

My next job, if I get it, isn't going to be nearly as awesome... just working in the cafeteria for minimum wage again :)

    Sr. Materials Planning Analyst

    Not really

I've been doing it for 8 years.

Pro - It pays really well for the area I live. Con - I work with customers in the automotive industry and they are extremely demanding. When they say the customer is always right. They are, even when they are completely wrong.

I take it to the streets. I keep it real. I stick it to the man. I do it till I'm satisfied. I be as bad as I know I can be.

Pros: I have a flexible schedule and a lot of autonomy

Cons: I fight authority, authority always wins.
