What does the term Messiah mean?
I did not put this in R&S because some guys (take note, not all)there will just give unintellectual answers. I want the scientific answer for this or based from one's knowledge without saying- "there's no Messiah, I don't believe in such" lol

Literally, Messiah means "The Anointed (One)", typically someone anointed with holy anointing oil. Figuratively, anointing is done to signify being chosen for a task; so, Messiah means "The Chosen (One)", particularly someone divinely chosen.

Literally it's a Hebrew word meaning "Anointed" or "The anointed one"... the connotations are many, depending on the religious background of the answerer
Among the children of Israel, kings, religious leaders and other positions of importance were all anointed with oil as a sign of their role. THE messiah, would refer to a specifically foretold leader, but there is debate among different religious groups as to the nature of that leader. Most believe it to be a spiritual leader however.

Literally a Messiah is any expected deliverer (usually lowercase);
but to the Jews it means the promised and expected deliverer of the Jewish people;
another meaning of Messiah is a zealous leader of some cause or project....

A derivation from Hebrew, meaning 'messenger of God', 'saviour', 'the holy one': a close one is christ, 'the good, saintly one'!
