Tattoo's and the Law?

I've never seen a studio tattoo at 16 but there's a lot who'll do it at 17 with parental consent

Anyway, in the US, you can get a tattoo after you turn 16 with parental consent. Make sure you bring the parent with you and goverment issued IDs for both of you. They will also make you sign a bunch of waiver forms.

Im not sure if the law is the same way in the UK

Not legally! The law is over 18's only, and to be honest I wouldn't trust a Tattooist who was prepared to break the law.

Things can and do go wrong and if this was the case for you, then you could end up paying for private treatment and because of the illegal aspect would not be able to claim against the Tattooist. No respectable Shop would do it!

No,, even with parents consent in UK , you cant get one till you are 18 or over..I looked it up on the legal board......regarding minors in the UK and tattoos

unless you do it illegaly somewhere in camden, or go to lithuania where you can have a tatoo when your like 9.

i think its good that the governemnt does that, because it stops people making mistakes that they would regret in their life.

unless its a pretty tatoo that acually has a meaning, and that you can afford to laserly remove it which costs thousand and is way painful and many times to go only to remove one tatoo.

wait until your 18, you will think differently then.

its not hard to find a tattooist that will do it at 16 but make sure you find somthing you wont regret and that they open all needles in front of you if they dont ask for new needles to be opened in front of you .if they refuse then leave.

Nope. UK Law states you must be 18 or older to get tattoo'd, and there is no exception for minors with parental consent here.

Come to America! You can get one if you're under 18 with parental consent ;o)
