stains on wood floor?

recently I poured a solvant on my dog's bed and while it was sitting, the dye from the material stained my wood floor. I tried a general household cleaner with a scrub brush and the stain is not budging...I am worried that the wood has been perminantly stained or dyed. Does anyone have ideas how to remove the stain?

Update:

Thanks for your advice...I am a renter so I am starting to panic!

Sorry to tell you this, but wood is a porus material that loves to absorb stain. That's why you an get it stained in so many colors. You can try sanding it and try to get below the stained surface, but I wouldn't bet on it. Chances are, you will have to remove the dyed boards and replace them.

Maybe a rug or plant stand on the spot to cover it????

    Oxyclean

I know it sounds crazy and like a sales pitch but I uses this on my deck when I spill oil or grease and it cleans it real good.

    1. Make a hot past hot hot water and ixy and brush in let sit desired tinme 10 minutes. then use a oxy solution as described on tub. then spray/pour on stain. repeat as necessary. this works for me all the time.

~*~ because wood is porous stains penetrate the surface and become permanent. Go to this site to learn how to tell if the stain is on the surface or in the wood itself .

yes. vinager or murphy oil soap. if those dont work you are probably going to have to either get new boards or have your floors finished. it's costly but if your floors are nice you will want to get it dont as it will raise the value of your house
