how did my ebay i bid on end at my exact highest bid?

I bid $44.88 on an item and it ended at $44.88. Wouldn't it end at the highest bid below my bid?

Not a big deal because the highest bid under mine was $44.85.

There were 6 total bids. 3 different bidders.

Had the highest bid under mine been $35.00, it should end at $35.00 right?

Just curious if this could be a scam?

It looks like someone nibbled up the bid and then stopped when they realized they weren't going to out bid you. They just so happened to stop right before they out bid you.

If you placed a max bid at 44.88 then the price can go up to that point.

The seller has NO idea what your max bid is. So no its not a scam.

if the highest bidder under you would have been 35.00. then yours would have been something like 35.50. or 35.05 something that's a little more than 35.00, since your automatically outbidding that other person, since your max bid is higher.
