Or even the men - would you consider taking time off work because you felt you looked overweight?

Hello handsome Bunches-no would not-it' s amazing they are allowed to do this
Mind you a lot of the clothes in the shops are much smaller in the size label than a few years ago I think because most are made abroad and their patterns are smaller the our British ones(M&S are)
Anyway a bit of exercise helps and it is better to have a nice face that a perfect body!

its funny how all people think that only overweight women are self conscious...i weigh 95 lbs and am super self conscious, granted im only 5'2. i have problems finding clothes that look right on me too beleive it or not...i've started to come to terms with it but i do wish i was a little thicker sometimes...but calling off of work for it, i think thats a bit much. like staying home is going to help you loose (or gain) the weight that you want...we all have our off days but thats really ridiculous. get some excercise (LOTS of cardio) get on a simple diet and you'll be fine.
oh and i am pretty sensative about my weight if someone just feels the need to tell me how skinny i am, it bothers me just as much as if you would tell a bigger person that they're fat.

Does my bum look big in this is not really an excuse for not turning up for work or an appointment. If that were the case there would be an awful lot of women missing from every day life.

Women are. If you don't believe me, walk down the street and tell each woman you see that they are fat, and gauge their reaction.
Men don't care about their weight, in general. Though some men are sensitive about their appearance.

Well I just turned down the offer of a week in the Caribbean because of my weight problems!!! last minute deal, leave in 3 days. I said no because I don't want Greenpeace circling me in their boats when I'm swimming. they would be thinking they were saving a whale!!!

Don't know but hiding is obviously not the solution. If they feel fat and stay at home they'll get fatter eventually they may just as well lock themselves up at home for the rest of their lives. I feel sorry for people who feel that way about themselves but they need to find a way out instead of hiding. Life is full of problems and far bigger problems one has to face.

Does Steph J really think that suffering from agoraphobia is funny and something to skit at. Maybe she should look up the condition and look at just how debilitating this condition can be before laughing at it.
It just makes her look like a nasty person.

Aren't fatties boring. They try to pretend the problem is thinness when the biggest eating disorder in this country is obesity.

I dont know anyone who has felt that bad about their weight they refused to go to work.

Judging from the fat women you see thundering down the street sensitive about their weight is the last thing on their mind. Where's the next donut shop is more important.
