Justice Scalia defends Bush vs. Gore?

Then he adds, "Get over it!" Might he remember that we are a free country and we have every right to disagree, even with decisions made by the Supreme Court? Scalia and his fellow members of the Supreme Court are mere mortal men...they are only human beings, just like the rest of us.

His arrogance, hubris and sloth is showing for all the world to see. Scalia and his group of justices should take into effect that their decisions affect every citizen in this country; he deserves to be a little more respectful as to how many people feel about what they might perceive to be reckless and/or incorrect decisions. -RKO- 04/24/08

Justice Scalia and the rest of the extreme right wing thugs on the Supreme Court have lots to get over themselves:

-You were not appointed because of your brilliance, you were appointed because of your lack of objectivity.

-You were not appointed because of your fair-mindedness, you were appointed for your lack of honor.

-You were not appointed because of your dedication to truth, you were appointed because you are a political hack.

-You were not appointed because of your willingness to find on the facts, you were appointed because of your willingness to invent "facts".

And, perhaps the most important, you will not go down as a great historical figure, you will go down in history as a mindless, lockstep, political front man, whose illegal decision led to the most incompetent administration in American history and helped kill 4,000+ of America's best for a political whim.

    Get over that.

In response to questioning about the legality of Bush v Gore on 60 minutes for which he had no defense, Justice Scalia sounded like a Mafia thug when he blurted out his Rove-like "get over it."

How do we get over a decision that has effectively destroyed our country and its democracy? How do we get over a Supreme Court decision which is supposed to set precedent by its wisdom but the Justices who voted for it say it is NOT TO SET PRECEDENT. Doesn't that mean it is not legal??

Scalia is an example of everything that is wrong with the USA and with the Republican party with his disregard for justice and law in favor of crony and corporate corruption.

Where did intelligent people ever come up with the idea that the highest court should be politically appointed? How can that lead to justice, how is that separation of powers?

Judges should and this is gonna sound unpopular be independent and free to make decisions based on the law. They shouldn't be influenced by pressure of the people BUT more important they should also not bow and be nothing more than servants of the politicians who appointed them as is the case now

The effect of this administration is a blatant disregard for the rules, the Constitution and the people of the U.S. in general. I'm not surprised.

I definitely think that decision was political. The way he gave a non-answer should tell us a lot about what goes on in the SCOTUS.
