Central FL romantic anniversary weekend on a budget?

Any good ideas on a nice way to celebrate an anniversary and where to go. Can't do th $300 a night fancy stuff...$100 and under for the hotel and $100 for tickets to somewhere like maybe a dinner show. anniversary is in august so looking for ideas now. Not wanting to do cocoa beach...but open to other EAst coast beach ideas or Orlando...basically central or east coast. Any recommnedations?

Update:

Not looking to do St. Augustine...been there and done all that with ex-husband so trying to find something different just for us but it is a great suggestion. I am really just looking for a great place to stay that is romantic and has at least a queen and a jacuzzi in room would be fabulous (but i know price range makes that hard!)

hmmm ok.... Lots of restrictions. .. But Orlando is really going to be the place for you.

You can get cheap dinner show tickets at http://www.orlandofuntickets.com/

You can get a cheap hotel room at http://www.lastminute.com/

That should work? I know that Orlando Fun Tickets has cheap Blue Man Group Tickets those are about 50.00 - 75.00 so maybe you could do that?

    I hope this helps!

Try one of the Bed and Breakfasts, or small inns in St. Augustine. The rooms are more than $100, they run between $140 and $190...but the price includes breakfast, and also afternoon sherry or evening dessert. I've stayed at Casa de Solana. It's very nice, and you are able to walk all over old town St. Augustine. My husband and I spent and anniversary weekend there a few years ago and the our car stayed parked almost all weekend, the only time we drove was to the San Sebastian Winery, because we intended to buy bottles of wine and didn't want to carry them.

Also, Tarpon Springs, Crystal River, or maybe a condo in New Smyrna-Ormond-Sebastian Inlet. Do a Bed and breakfast search for these towns, there are some very nice B and Bs near many Florida Springs.

You could also get a room on Disney property. Even if you don't visit the parks, you could have a great dinner and walk around the Boardwalk and Downtown Disney. There may be a show you'd like, La Nouba or House of Blues.

Instead of getting a room, you could spend an evening along Park Avenue in Winter Park or in Thornton Park near downtown Orlando.

The town of Orlando is found in one of the world's many visited tourist parts, which draws hundreds of millions guests annually and you may be one if you have a look with hotelbye . Among the key tourist attractions of Orlando are: Walt Disney World£Earth, SeaWorld Orlando, and Universal Orlando. Orlando's SeaWorld, with its enormous aquariums, dolphin and whale reveals, feel pools, and intensive set of trips, pulls a big household group is the perfect spot to opt for the family. In that place you will even get the opportunity for a close-up experience with dolphins and other residents. SeaWorld in Orlando is on the list of world's greatest maritime areas and definitely the absolute most visited.

  • hhhhmmmmmmm.... go to trussvilletravel.com and search what city you want. i would recommend miami, just because you'll find lots of shows and stuff to do there. the best youllget in miami in terms of hotel rates is 3 star for $80-$100 a nite. i just checked trussvilletravel.com, and there are like four 3star hotels for under $100, and a 4 star for $139. as far as activities. also for activites, you can click on extras from the trussvilletravel.com home page and click on extras. then go down a smidge and click tickets and attractions, search your dates. i searched all of next week and found a very nice biscane bay cruise with dinner, with prices as low as $29 per person. i hope this helps, and remember to use trussvilletravel.com to book all your travel dreams!

Wander around downtown St. Augustine, maybe go to the Castillo (the fort), admire the horse & carriages, but skip the Old City Jail.

    Events Calendar: http://www.augustine.com/community/events.php?date...

Tour of Flagler College ($6/person,amazing design--walk through even if you don't spring for the tour) http://staugustine.com/directory/visit/1465057.sht...

Go to the beach at Anastasia State Park (beautiful white sand) http://staugustine.com/directory/visit/1469874.sht...

Go to an Imax movie ($10/person) http://wgv.com/imax/imax.php, eat a burger @ the Caddyshack Restaurant http://www.murraybroscaddyshack.com/caddyshack2/Ph... @ the World Golf Village. (Not traditionally romantic, but lots of fun.)

And St. Augustine has lots of restaurants with great seafood & live music.

    ADD:

There are some bed & breakfasts in Fernandina Beach (on Amelia Island) where you can get a room w/a queen & jacuzzi for about $160/nite. You may have to cut out the show, but I think it'll be worth it for the romance.

    i.e. Ash St. Inn http://www.ashstinn.com/rooms.htm

Downtown Fernandina is on the river with lots of restaurants, bars, & little shops. It's a couple miles straight shot to Fort Clinch State Park and Main Beach.
