Motivation to Exercise?
I'm not overweight at all, and skinny by most people standards, but even though I'm skinny (5'3 115lbs), I'm very out of shape. The meat I do have on my body is all flab and I'd like to get toned a bit. I used to be very into exercising, used to do yoga everyday...plus exercising on top of that like 5 times a week. That was when I was a teenager, now as an adult when I feel it's more important to keep a healthy metabolism and such, it just seems now I have a lack of motivation just to even start again. It seems being healthy should be motivation enough, but it's not. I think about waking up 20 min early to get in a little exercise before work, but I can't move out of the bed in the morning (not a morning person)...then I think about trying to fit in some exercise after work, but I'm just am too tired to do it.
With all these excuses I have (haha), how do I just get the motivation to be healthy again?
Help! Any words of advice or encouragement would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi there, i know where your coming from i am a fitness instructor and personal trainner and run weight loss classes twice a week and i should be the most motivated person in the world and sometimes i feel like just doing nothing as with the best will in the world i just get fed up of doing it or even am challenged by the thought of it. We do need to exercise though to keep ourselves healthy and in shape and my words of wisdom is even just do 30 min twice a week as you will still be keeping good habits, its when we stop altogether and resign ourselves to excuse after excuse we just dont bother anymore and doing nothing becomes normal. Do something you enjoy walk, swim, jog, doing a class with others is good idea as its at a set time and it is a set duration so you know when it starts and when it finishes. Start of with twice a week and not in the morning as if your not a morning person you are setting yourself up to giving up- fast!!! Good luck and dont beat yourelf up about it as everyone is human and everyone needs motivation. Take care

You have to come up with some type of a reward system, this will help keep you motivated. One of the best things to do is make a contingency contract. Stating what you want to do, who will help you do it, and what do you get for doing it.
Then also try to find a well balance diet program. My friend did this one diet program where the average weight lose is 7 pounds in 9 days. It might be the thing you are looking for, I know it's well balanced. If you want e-mail me and I can tell you more about either of these.

well sometimes it is very hard for me to get motivatied. what helps me is i think of the good benfits of being in shape you just gotta really push yourself the first week will be hard but when your body gets used to exerciseing it will become more easy for you to workout and get out of bed and try working out with a firend or get a personal trainer to help you stay motivatied.

Think about how great your body/muscles will look once you're in shape.
That's what keeps me motivated.
