Cramping in Early Pregnancy....is this normal??

I am currently beginning my 5th week of pregnancy. I am having period type cramps, but not as severe as during my actual period. Should I be concerned?? Is this normal? What are some of the reasons this would occur?

Cramping is normal in early pregnany without bleeding or spotting. When I was pregnant with my 1st child, i thought the ept were wrong and i was gonna start my period any day. I am 5 weeks now and had cramping last week, and the past few days had really bad gas cramps. I think the cramps in the beginning are from implantation, it burying in deeper and the uterus changing.

Yes it is normal, but you need to take it easy. The first 3 months is most critical. The cramping is your uterus stretching, but you still need to take it easy. When it starts sit down and wait it out. It don't last forever, breathe easy.
