Why an AK47.... they are hard to find. They were only made between 1949 and 1951. (Just one of my pet-peeves, you probably want an AKM... not an AK-47)
You aren't going to find any great deals online or in any store, certainly not a store, you should go to a gun show. The guys there have nearly zero over head costs like lighting or air conditioning like a gun shop does.... so prices are lower. Check them out.... last gun we bought was 500 dollars at Academy, and we payed 400 at the gun show and got a free case too.
