In a random sample of 200 persons of a town, 120 are found to be tea drinkers. In a random sample of 500?

persons of another town, 240 are found to be tea drinkers. Is the proportion of tea drinkers in the two towns equal? Use 0.01 level of significance.

    They are not equal.

    120/240 = 50%

    240/500 = 48%

    They are close, but they are not within 1%. (If you used .05 level of significance, then you could say that they are. )

    actually dr r used teh wrong number. its 120/200=60%

    but its still not equal
