Should ballots be changed to eliminate ignorant votes?
Should ballots include 3-4 questions on each candidate regarding where they stand on issues as a means to validate a persons vote? For example, if a person selects candidate X, but miss more than one (for example) of the questions regarding that candidates position on issues, their vote is not counted.

Guess what? They did that in the South 60 years ago. That's one of the things the civil rights movement was about.
I think if a person takes the trouble to drive to their polling site, they deserve to vote. It means they have a candidate that they want to see elected for whatever reason they may have. They have as much right to their opinion as you do, even though it may not be as wise or reasonable as yours. They may be voting for someone in order to vote against someone else. Like, I want Obama to be the next president, but I would vote for Hillary if I have to in order to keep John McCain from becoming president. Luckily, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
I'm voting for Obama!

A democracy is totally dependent on a well informed electorate to survive in the long term. This country has been in trouble voting wise for quite a long time. This is also the reason democracy doesn't work everywhere, i.e., Iraq. Many voters only evaluate what they can obtain personally from whoever they elect. There is little attention paid to who is actually the best for the country. There are questions on this site that allude to voting simply based on a candidate's physical appearance. Anyone simple enough to do that really should not be permitted to vote but we are a "free" people and you can't deny a person the right to vote simply because they're either stupid or don't agree with your choice. It'd be nice but it flies in the face of what this country stands for.

No, as much as I would prefer that people enlighten themselves as much as possible on the candidate's or their party's stand on issues, I still think that even if people want to vote because a candidate is "cute" they should be allowed to. There are many reasons for voting for any particular candidate, and just be cause you did not know the answers to a few questions about the candidates postions does not mean you don't have good reason to vote for him/her.

How about just knowing where the United States is located on a world map. That should eliminate quite a few.
The problem these days seems to be that many people vote based on the candidates appearance or how he or she makes them feel, not where he or she stands on any issue. Unfortunate, isn't it? But that is where your idea comes in handy and also eliminates those bozo's.
Here's another idea. How about after so many wrong answers, a spinning red light on top of the voting booth comes on and the so-called "voter" has to leave in shame.
NEXT CONTESTANT PLEASE!

No. It is a reflection of our society. If all the ignorant people show up and beat the educated that should be an indicator that the educated are not doing their job to promote education. Shame on them if they aren't spreading their knowledge. You can't bottle up smart and sell it, you have to pass it on. Its your duty as an educated American citizen.

This has been asked at least 10 times on this site. Such tests when used in the past were simply a tool for denying people their rights to vote.

Who determines what is ignorant the government? Some Pundit?
We live in a democracy, that some of us have served our country to defend, we will not give it up.
Our constitution reads "We The People" not "Some Of Us " or "Just Us" instead of "Justice".

While it would be a great idea, it would not pass constitutional muster. Although, I personally would not think it a problem if you merely had to list your two Senators and Congressman to validate your ballot.

No. Violation of the Voting Rights act. Arbitrary and unenforceable.

If that were to happen, the questions must not be biased, and written in a way not to discriminate any type of voter. This type of tactic has been used before.
