I have an interview for an airline tomorrow and the dress code is 'business casual' What is it?

I have a very smart loose fitting suit that looks perfectly OK with a very nice shirt buttoned up with no tie

I like that look

A safe option is the suit with classic white shirt and tie (which I don't like)

Does 'Business Casual absolutely necessitate a tie or can I get away with the first option?

Job is for ground crew.

Business casual means: dresser shirt or a nice buttoned down shirt with a pair of slacks or khakis and a pair of nice shoes. Clean hair/body and clean shaven/trimmed up facial hair. *Wear fitted clothes not baggy or to tight*

    Here's a little more detail:

Khaki pants, neatly pressed, and a pressed long-sleeved, buttoned solid shirt are safe for both men and women. Polo/golf shirts, unwrinkled, are an appropriate choice if you know the environment will be quite casual, outdoors or in a very hot location. This may not seem like terribly exciting attire, but you are not trying to stand out for your cutting edge look, but for your good judgment in a business environment.

    Good luck!

with business casual, you can get away without a tie,

but in the end its really up to you. Most suit can double as business casual as well? I say just to be safe , wear a black suit with a causual tie. It never hurts and it looks nice.

If you look a bit overdressed then the people there, just take off ur time and unbutton ur shirt by one button when u get to the interview. Its always better to overdress ( a little ) then underdress.

What you've described sounds appropriate for business casual. You don't need to wear a tie. When you say "loose fitting" suit, make sure that it doesn't look sloppy. Sometimes when suits don't fit appropriately it looks sloppy rather than put together.

    Good luck on your interview!

Well even though you don't like the suit....ITS ONLY TO GET THE JOB! Wear the suit because even though they told you business casual, there is no such thing as over dressing for an interview. Dress to impress. It looks really professional.

I would advise you to dress up for an interview. Unless the company has told you not to waer a tie, wear one with your jacket. the rules for an interview are dress at least one level up from the companies business dress.
