Do you sometimes wonder if you inhabit the same planet as everyone else?
G & WS always has a way of triggering existential angst for me.
I have yet to encounter an anti feminist in real life, though I have met a few male chauvinists, and heck, I've even made a few sexist jokes myself.
I've seen discrimination against just about every single section of society that can be identified well enough to discriminate against it, but once again, it usually comes down to how specific people choose to behave.
The same thing goes for men "playing" women and women playing men. Some people seem to treat love as a game you play to win, others as a game where you have fun together.
And so the disillusioned and the disenfranchised stereotype and label and ultimately demonise whoever done them wrong and recreate the process of discrimination all over again in the guise of seeking equality, whatever that is.
Coming here doesn't make me doubt my sanity, just everyone elses.

You suffer from disharmonic subjective fubar delusions of social utopia, our dear Twilight whom we have missed so much and scan for so eagerly and unrequited each and every day here in Gonadal Land. It is an error to perceive reality from the perspective of humanity or its social constructs, or even Life. When we say, "survival of the fittest", we forget to also ask, "fit for WHAT?" What are lifeforms evolving TOWARD or to BE? How does all of this roll-out?
We arrogantly assume it's all about US. It ain't. Nature, the Universe, is all about energy and how it forms increasingly complex constructions from photons to particles of matter to atoms and molecules and compounds and organic compounds and lifeforms possessing senses and capable of consciousness. But, it doesn't stop there. That's where we make our metaphysical mistake and why we flounder in such confusion.
I wander these days along mountain timberlines and bobble about in my canoe in ocean marshes pondering and photographing what those next Higher - Than - Life - And - Consciousness complex constructions of energy might be, and what that means for us. The principles and patterns of that complexification sequence of energy hold true like the Pythagorean Theorem at all levels. So, the great and mysterious secret to the Universe is definitely right in front of our eyes, even in the face of a flower or in the patterns of the rise and fall of species or civilizations or individuals or the sequence and proportions of humps in a rippled rope. Marx and Engles got into these universal "cycles" in the philosophy / metaphysics of Dialectical Materialism.
If one looks closely enough into the face and body of a flower, such as a lotus blossom (hint hint), and can see lucidly enough without mental socially installed blinders, there is a "template" to be discovered there that, like the Pythagorean Theorem, is universal and can then be placed against all other things and happenings to reveal the "roll-out" of things and events, such as, "Fit for WHAT?" Which brings us back to delusions of social utopia.
It boggled me that energy would construct itself into consciousness and constructions possessing senses able to perceive and discover itself. Why? Although energy strives for lifeforms to rise through the exploration of the world around them through use of their senses and to accumulate a compendium of objective knowledge of Nature or the world around them, it is not as interested, at this level of energy construction called Life, in the survival of the human species or the stability of societies as it is in some pinnacle or direction of some kind of INDIVIDUAL human consciousness, and not JUST human consciousness.
The farthest I've gotten in perceiving what that "direction" may be is harmony, actual physics harmony of some kind. For example, the brainwave that humans emit that matches the mean harmony / frequency of the Universe is the brainwave we emit when we feel compassion. That's why compassion "feels" so good to us. As humans have risen from subjective fear of the unknown into accumulated objective understanding of the world, we learn more truly what is "good" or healthy or the direction humanity should be headed. It's been trial and error, with a lot of error. But, by advancing from molecular (chemical) comprehensions of health into electromagnetic perceptions of health and harmony, we are just now at the point where we are going to be able to "see" more truly "good" or harmonious pathways.
Not to sound crude, but it's like a million sperm cells racing to be the first to get into an egg. It only takes ONE sperm cell, then the egg changes and locks the other sperm cells out. THEN, the egg and sperm cell form a higher complexity of energy. Something's going on like that with some pinnacle of INDIVIDUAL consciousness. Nature doesn't expect the masses, the billions of human cells, just a few to acheive a level of consciousness, which is electromagnetic, to form some more complex construction with whatever our consciousness frequencies may be harmonizing with.
The sperm cell of consciousness that can harmonize with and launch higher constructions is all that Nature wants out of us. So, as much as we may desire other humans and societies to rise above the savage, above human fears, ignorance and weakness and share our perceptionay level of accumulated objective knowledge and awareness in some social utopian delusion, it isn't as important in reality as the individual's rise in awareness. And, the actual number one strategy in the "survival of the fittest" has never been domination or who's at the top of the food chain. Evolution favors not the aggressors but those seemingly meek creatures who learn best how not the be eaten and how to go unnoticed so that they may go about their lives in relatively safety in the midsts of the feeding frenzy. And, the more enlightened individuals become, the more they recognize and remove themselves from the disharmonic subjective trappings of society.
Anyway, all that we humans strive for is to rise above suffering and toward some sense that there is something "good" out there. We move away from noxious stimuli and are attraced to what is "good", such as beauty, wisdom and love. But, what is beauty? We yearn for something, some understanding. These next higher levels of complex energy constructions may very well require suffering in order for even rare compassion to be emitted into the electromagnetic soup. In whatever garden all of this reality resides in, harmonic human consciousness, such as perceptions of beauty, wisdom and love, may be like berries for the pickin's of some greater construction of energy, and the sufferings are just the fertilizer to keep the berries growing on the bushes.
That all being said, as for which planet I come from or what I might have been smoking today, I'll leave to your imagination and good humor. : )

Until I started playing at GWS I really thought the extreme anti-feminists I had heard people speak about were absolute fictions.
I knew no-one anywhere in my life, including my brother's young drinking budddies and fellow 'men's club' attendees who thought about women with the hatred these chaps do.
Personally, I'm thinking it's because I'm Australian ~ things are just different here, the guys are more self confident, or something.
Really, I wonder sometimes if this place is the 'other planet', lol.
After all, in real life, do people have dozesn of IDs, swap genders at will to make some weird point, use the most limited and extreme arguments to develop a life philosophy from ... yadda yadda yadda.
It's Planet GWS, for sure. Mystery Meat says, it doesn't mean they aren't smart aliens and that's the truth, but as to whether they're aliens, well consider the number of times questions about Star Trek are asked here ...
Cheers :-)

I think I understand the question. You're asking if 2 different humanoid species of near equal intelligence could co-exist on the same planet? Well, I think it all comes down to what level of intelligence they are at in this "near equivalence". If they are still in the phase of tribal warfare (like humans) then I think there is a good chance they'd kill each other off. But if they made it to a much higher level of intelligence then it would be possible to co-exist. Look at humans, for example. With all of the wars that have gone on and are still going on, it is obvious that we are fairly primitive because we still fight each other. Imagine if we had another humanoid species to fight... the wars would never end! However, if humans were smart enough to find a way to make world peace, I'm sure we could also make peace with another humanoid species as well.

I used to wonder but then I realized that when you over analyze simple things in life then your not really living. Everyone has different perspectives of what "playing", love, or even reality in general really is. The perspectives are among your race, religion, sex, or just by the matter of how unique and intelligent you are. Everyone is really completely different. There's no need to think so deeply about it, you must think of it as just a fact of life. This way you don't waste your time thinking about the small stuff that everyone else questions, and instead become curious about topics of which people have never thought of. Question out of the box, expand your mind tremendously past what others may think of "unusual."

I think I understand what you are saying about doubting people's sanity.
I don't quite feel that because I'm a little out there in some ways about some things and even I know it. :)
But I do have to remind myself normal people are not like some of the people in here and that this is Not like real life.
There is some disorientation when you read so much of what some very disturbed people post but the people who come here are self-selected and Not representative.
There is also the upside to self-selected patricipation. I also get to meet some very cool and intelligent and kind people who are very interesting! :)
(((Twilight))) missed ya mate! :) :) :)

I think that most of those that write anti-feminist screeds on GWS are just playing. If they spoke that way to most women they'd never get any lol. Really, it seems to be just an online pose and removed from reality. I never hear from guys I know the kind of crap I read from people on this thread. That's a good thing :)

I think this all the time. I see the way people treat each other, their filthy homes and neighborhoods, the problems with alcohol and drugs, rape and murder, their obsession with cell phones and iPods...I don't come anywhere close to fitting those categories, but most humans do.
It would be nice to wake up one day and all this was a nightmare and people are all basically good, wholesome, clean people after all.

Nah. I don't. I just drop in here from Alpha Slash Snooty by way of the time hose. I never doubt the fact that I'm heap mo better than everybody that lives on this stinking Earth ball.
It's just I have this paper to write, and if I don't get it done on time, my teacher is going to use her magnetic bloomers to sterilize my pet crab-slug.

i think it's unfair of you to imply that the people who visit here are incapable of abstract thought and objective introspection. there are many here who have legitimate arguments to support their beliefs, regardless of their own personal stories. i'm glad i stopped by while you were here, it's been a while since i've seen you. and i wish i knew what precisely prompted you to share your existential angst. it seems i miss everything :)

i never inhabited it in the first place.....i reside on my own...and i could 't agree more... discrimination exists everywhere...and everything boils down to having a morale and ethics based on reason and rationality....

and I've never seen a feminist in real life, but almost every guy I know sickens at the word feminist. so, yeah, what planet do you come from?
