How do you handle rude people?

To quote from a presentation i did recentlyonThe Bible is central to our lives today as Christians on a dialy basis.'• Guides Us -

o In difficult times in our life God gives us reassurance and guidance through scriptures such as Ps 23: 3 3‘He gives me new strength, He guides me in the right paths as He has promised.’

This scripture has been significant in my life recently: I was seeking God’s guidance when I felt troubled by a friendship. I thought okay, next time she talks to me in that negative way and upsets me, I will just have to tell her straight how she makes me feel and that I do not like it.

I thought I had better pray about this first: Following prayer God guided me to a couple of verses in the Bible:

Luke 6:27-42 under the teaching of Love your Enemies and Judging Others in particular 28‘bless those who curse you and pray for those who ill treat you.’

James 1 26 ‘Do any of you think you are religious? If you do not control your tongue, your religion is worthless and you deceive yourself.’

I know those are harsh words but I felt God was guiding me down the right path and I have not said anything so far but I am praying for our friendship.'

Hope that helps you as much as it has helped me.As Jesus says, we should turn the other cheek. Not easy, i know, but it helps me sleep better knowing i can do it.

I try to deal with them as tactfully as I can, especially if there are other decent people present. In other words, I don't want to make the situation worse by being obnoxious.

For example, if someone is being beligerent, or using lots of profanity in the vicinity of children, I'll say something like "Sir, please show the children more respect, and not use that kind of language around them.".

Chances are, the rest of the people are noticing when a person is being rude, so you might get some support from others if you're the first to speak up.

The world is tough enough to live in, at times, and having to deal with rude people just adds one more thing to it.

You can either ignore them, or if you feel you know them well enough, then give a witty come back. I do that and it usually leaves them stumped, or trying to think of something clever to say back, which usually turns out stupid, leaving them looking like an idiot.

But honestly, I have anger issues and had to quit my job recently because I punched my coworker in the jaw for being perverted to me all day. I try to keep it in check when it comes to customers though.

I try to remain polite and diffuse the situation. If it continues: I throw it back at them. I'm a human being and deserve respect. If they're not going to show me respect, I'm not going to show them respect.

Rise above them and resist getting lowered to their level. Ruder they become the mor epolite you become.

t1t for tat. once you build up confidence they can see it on the outside and they wont be rude to you. only if you are weak and dont defend yourself they will be rude.

I kill them with kindness!! If someone is being rude I'll usually respond by being nice to them.

i try not do deal with, rude people. i would rather just not deal with it, then have to listen to them

I just ignore them but if they say something very nasty and mean to mean then of course am ganna say something mean back to them!
