I'm not Jewish but I'm very interested in the kabbala. The mysticism and eroticism....

I agree with Gen, read up on Judaism first...I actually have my own amazon wishlist of Torah/Kabbalah related books (see list below).
I actually began reading the Sefer Yetzirah, translated by Aryeh Kaplan some time ago...and started having "problems". The thing with Kabbalah, particularly the Sefer Yetzirah, is that it opens up pathways that have been locked tight for a VERY long time...can be difficult to handle. I have spoken to quite a few advanced students of Kabbalah, and they concur...study Torah first, as well as aspects of Judaism.

(it may seem strange to include a book written by Carl Jung, but Jungian psychology seems to have a direct relationship with Kabbalah study for some reason...I have seen the relationship while reading this particular book) - DavidLv 41 decade ago
It is very interesting and the knowlegde can't hurt. It is mystical in a sense, but all religions have a 'magic' court.

Why would you jump into a raft with a hole in it and try to cross an ocean or why would you dig yourself into a hole that will cave in at the last moment?
