1990 735i Is it worth a buck?

I need a little info from the informed BMW folks,

I am getting this car for a great price. WAY below book and it is all there.

In your experience, is this a car that looks to be something to restore and make 100% or just a beater that will never amount to anything? If I owned it I'd have pictures.

Update:

OK,

188K, I6, has had a lot of new parts like drive shaft, water pump, all belts. I really want an answer from someone who owns one, I looked on edmunds I am getting this for $1,000. All options, is this something I want to spend money on to restore it to its showroom quality or just drive it.

Update 2:

Oh Ya O_o is a dumb answer

Of all the E32's the 735i sold the most. Total E32 production between 1987 and 1994 was about 300,000. Of those 110,000 were 735i's. Only the M30 engined 730i came close at around 90,000 units.

The 735i is an excellent car and did win many awards for its design when introduced but like many cars there is no way to know if it wll ever become collectable. It was an icon of the Yuppy generation but like tie dye or big hair do we really need to be reminded of those generations? ;-) Only now are those regular BMW cars from the early '70's starting to be considered collectable so you have another 20 years towait and see. Of the E32's I believe the 750i and 750iL will have a much better shot.

For an 735i the 1990 to 1992 (last year) are very good examples as all of the issues were sorted out.

If it was in perfect, like-new condition I'd say to keep it that way. But you would restore it now, wait for it to be worth something and then...have to restore it again? What?

If you like the car, buy it and drive it. And if it amazingly every becomes valuable...that's when you dump money into it.

For $1000 I'd drive it until it died and then sell it for parts.

Was a real good model for the first few years , but as time goes on the the later years it has not been as popular as BMW hoped, mainly its old looking body design, thats why prices have fallen on that model very rapidly in the last three years.

Drive it. No 1990 car is going to be a collector car anytime soon. As this car is easy to find selling one for top dollar is hard to do, but driving one is great.

It totally depends on the condition, price, mileage. Your being way to vague to get a meaningful answer.
