Cynical Question, Is This Obama-Wright Thing Being Staged?

Not only possible but very likely. It's public knowledge that they had agreed, before he announced his run for the nomination, that Obama would have to put distance between himself and Wright if he got close to the nomination or if it became an issue. What do you know.... right on time and just as planned. The timing and the circumstances are just too perfect

Anything is possible but the Rev wright is extremely egotistical and what I'd call a parasite. I don't think he'd take a fall for anyone and I think he's using this to boost his audience. Obama is probably a decent guy and believed somewhat in the concept of the Reverends accusations of the government. I don't think its any stretch to think any black person growing up could feel this way because lets face it our government is ruled largely by white males that coddle other white males. Obama should have done a better job when this issue first came out but I'll give him a mulligan since I can't stand hillary.

Obama has given Wright the benefit of the doubt, and lots of supporters have, too. But his "performances" these last couple of days... WTF???

If anything, I know see Wright's ego far surpasses his faith or common sense.

I think that Obama did what he did because he was sincerely saddened and angry at Wright's statements. There was no mistaking that press conference: What we witnessed was Obama telling everyone, including his pastor, that he was out of line and out of his good graces.

I think that what you saw is Rev. Wright being himself. I do agree that it's a benefit to Obama because it allows him to deny it again.

People that talk about this "attending the church for 20 yrs" are content to think that Black Liberation Theology is about hating white people and that people in that church spend their time hating white people. It isn't that. I don't think BLT is as much value to black people as it was when it started. Things are better, but there're still a lot of racists out there. BLT will become obsolete when it's not needed anymore.

BLT came about as a response to what Islam was offering black people - particularly black men. As a Christian, I'd much rather have BLT in a Christian church than people turning to Islam.

It's now pretty obvious that Wright was hired by the Clintons to bring down Obama.

Speaking as a black woman who attends a black church waht people have to understand is that there is not only 1 pastor in church. In biggger churchs you have a few and who said Obama went to church every sunday. All pastors , priests etc say things we don't agree with. I was raised Catholic and now I am baptist and I disagree with majority of the things both churchs preach and I'm positive most American Christian churchs preach the same thing. All homosexulas will go to hell? Anyone who has an abortion will go to hell, Anyone who has sexual relations before marriage will go to hell. If thats the case who will go to heaven?

I save bouncing between that theory and the concept Rev Wright is in basic terms getting his fifteen minutes of acceptance, so he might want to be as prominant as the different racepimps, jesse and al.

IF it is staged, it because they want to get it all out of the way before Obama wins the nomination so he can focus on the real issues and not the media hyped BS like this

It does seem staged to me. I don't buy Obama's outrage. What was it festering for 20 years. And we're still supposed to believe he never heard Wright say any thing crazy. A leopard doesn't change it's spots overnight.
