Is the phrase, "Thanks much", considered to be proper, grammatically correct English?

I hear people around the office using this phrase all the time and it drives me nuts! For some reason, it just doesn't sound correct to me...

It should be "Thank you very much", but, it is obvious that they are just using the short cut version "Thanks much". It is a status and a way of getting noticed.

English is the 2nd respected language (quite often used for respected purposes). i could additionally be tempted to show South Africa which has 11 respected languages. English merely being certainly one of them. the main notably spoken language of eu descent in South Africa is Afrikaans. subsequently, this could make South Africa a rustic with a severe share of individuals that talk English as a 2nd language... At a wager, i could additionally say that Holland could have a severe share of English audio device as a foreign places language. In my journey, English isn't that huge unfold in Scandinavian worldwide places (different than consistent with probability Denmark and Sweden). the greater youthful era definately have a reliable comprehension of the English language however. yet once you surely trip there you come across that many human beings do no longer communicate a observe of English. English and French human beings look to have between the toughest situations gaining knowledge of foreign places languages with the aid of fact they provide the effect of being to have confidence that everybody else could do all the artwork for them.... (???) i'm happy that concept is finally changing. thank you for listening,
