A file is good advice, because it will have to be done with abrasion. Any kind of metal file will do, as long as it has a corner you can work with. The finer the file the better. A good fine grit disk on a Dremel cutter will work also, possibly better than a file.
The trick is not cutting all the way through the shell until you have cut into it all the way around first. Using a brown egg will help you see what you are doing better than a white egg; they also tend to be higher quality and have thicker shells, which makes this easier.
A steady hand and a razor knife can also score around the egg, allowing it to be cracked with a perfect edge. This is much faster than a file, but will probably take quite a few tries.
Once through the shell, use a knife to cut the membrane to separate the halves without risking the shell. Carefully peel the membrane out of the shell halves.
