A question for non-Canadians?

For those of you who are not Canadian, can you tell us something about your perceptions of this country?

Update:

Very interesting answers so far--much of what I expected--Canada is thought to be made of snow, hockey, and a live-and-let-live attitude--peaceful.

There aren't really much perception of them. A few people born there are famous in America. Some people speak French. It snows. Hockey is popular. You say about like aboot. There's maple syrup. That's pretty much it. It's kinda just like one of those countries that you know of but you never really care or know much about it unless you live there.

have to wait months to get a health appointment lol

u say aboot instead of about

I think of Toronto and the parliament building

    i think of montreal

i think of how Nunavit has less people than in my town

i think of wide open spaces, peaceful, few people

Canada does seem a bit "dormant" its just sort of there

I think of Vancouver and almost getting my exchange student from germany deported lol

I think of edmonton or whatever that place is called

So i percieve canada as a vast and beautiful "mosaic" of a land but doesn't do much

invented basketball. I think of french people. I don't think much about hockey though. seeing a i get a lot of that in minnesota

Source(s): i don't think its much different than minnesota

Well, aside from Quebec and Toronto and Vancouver (I've never been to Canada), I picture basically all of Canada as a nice, wildlife haven. I know that's far from reality, but that's just how it is. Also, kind of a weak military force and like Switzerland, where you like to stay neutral and not get involved in foreign affairs. I wish the US was like that.... sigh...

You say "eh" a lot and you mispronounce words like sorry and drama. Kidding! I think snow and trees for some reason and hockey obsessions. Ooh, and police on horses!

A very large, peaceful and frigid country filled with snow and exotic animals, and almost desolated with a few people

Hockey! Curling. Snow. Maple syrup. Maple leaves. Nice people, waterfalls. It sounds more calm (I'm probably not even making sense here) than the US. I've heard it's real cold too. Some speak French. And yeah...Canada sounds awesome. I dunno why people make fun of them a lot. =/

Honestly I think of Canada like another state in the U.S. but with a slightly lower crime rate.
