Who is your favorite Metal band and why?

I'm more into Death metal/Deathcore and a little Grindcore.

But, I would probably have to say...as i lay dying.

They have good instrmentals, along with vox.

I have to say Nightwish until Tarja left. Can't stand the new chic. I like the fact that it's a mix of heavy metal and classical and even opera. Makes it different and unique. Pretty much any heavy metal group that isn't from the U.S is good. Heavy metal is dead in the U.S. all we get is dumbasses that can't play an insturment, use their imagination or even sing.

I agree with one above me, Kill Switch Engage is just really something amazing. The vocalist could be like an opera singer or something but he brings it to this incredible metal band filled with sick musicians.

Deftones for their combination of harshness and sweetness all in the same song all at the same time. Standouts are their covers of The Cars "Drive", Sade "No Ordinary Love", and Lynard Skynard "Simple Man". Give them a whirl.

Killswitch Engage. I have seen them 3 times and they rock every single time. The vocals and instrumentals go together so perfectly.

Kamelot is freaking amazing.

Mettallica..because i'll punch a hole thru your face if you disagree.

The pig squeals and breakdowns are the shizz-nizz.

My all time favorite is Metallica!!! Their music is timeless!!!
