Should the Queen be head of the church of England?

Should the Queen be head of the church of England?

Should the Prime-Minister be able to appoint the leader of that faith, (the archbishop of cantebury)?

My question is shouldn't it be a spiritual leader dedicated not a Royal member of the family be the head of the church and should a politician be allowed to appoint Bishops?

And do you think it's wrong that if a royal marrys a catholic they are not allowed to succeed the throne?

A royal should be allowed to marry and succeed no matter what faith non faith, this should change do you agree?

Update:

Para shouldn't the title then be the Royal Church of England then?

The Church of England was created by Henry the 8th. Ever since then the Ruler of England was the ruler of the Church and yes, a politician has always anointed the Bishops. No I do not think that if a Royal marries a Catholic that they can't rule because as it is more of a secular minded church, it should allow that to happen, no matter what the faith of one or the other.

I disagree just because I am familiar with the history of the C of E.

The Church of England was invented by Henry the VIII when he severed political ties with the Pope and Rome, also the English Civil war had not been thought, meaning England was still a Monarchy opposed to a Democracy.

The C of E is a Royal invention therefore under their control.

The Queen? Absolutely. There is more historical precidence for a Goddess figure at the head of a spiritual community than a godhead. All of the religions should switch to godess figureheads - I'm sure it would make the world a better place.

sturdy question. The Church or England, of Scotland and in Wales is the popular church of this u . s .. The Catholic church has long been denied any form of equality, seems slightly off that any others might desire to be bodily bigger.

Blame it on Henry VIII. Besides the royals are now just figureheads and are not in charge of Britian anyway.

Most people in the UK aren't too interested in religion these days so it isn't a matter of great importance to the average Briton.
