Did I mess up my motherboard?

I'm a dumbass. A true dumbass. bought new parts and new MB:

Asus P5n-E

Intel Q6600

OCZ DDR2 800 2 gigs.

Anyway. I've been having problems with my comp. I would play a game and the game would crash within 15-30 minutes of playing. I read that my motherboard was very picky with RAM. Some claimed that if you change the timings to 4-4-4-12 in the BIOS, it fixed it all. I did that. Well I tried. I just found 4 things on auto, changed three of them to 4, and the last to 12. Didn't fix a damn thing. I returned to the memory timing options in the BIOS to find an Advanced option with more options to change. Stupid me, not even knowing what I was doing figured, why not change them ALL to the number 4 and the last to 12. Saved the options, rebooted the comp. Nothing. My screen was black. The num-lock lights don't light up, my sensor mouse doesn't light up, the only thing happens is my computer running. Did I screw up my mtherboard completelty and will I have to buy a new one? Please Help!

Try removing your mobo's battery and putting it back in. That might reset it to factory settings. Other than that I'm not too sure what you could do.

Oh and the battery you're looking for is not a normal AA battery its a small watch battery.

Also if you have 2 1GB sticks of RAM try starting with each one of them, maybe one of them is faulty.

Since you tinkered with mobo and ram those are the most probable problem areas, also check PSU and CPU just in case.

Actually, if your a gamer, I would recommend buying a XFX motherboard. I'm currently using a MSI Platinum and it has problems but it doesn't crash like that. Maybe your board has this automatic overclock feature just like mine and it starts over clocking your pc when it detects a lot of memory usage. Just turn it off if you have it. If the game crashes then it is probably the video cards fault. Since if it was your boards fault it would show a blue screen. I'm not sure what game your playing but if you are playing some of the new games you should put the settings on low if you don't have a Nvidia 8800 or higher. (not sure about radeon) But depending on the factory settings for your ram you shouldn't lower the cas latency more than 2. (for example, if your ram has a cas of 5, don't make it 3).

If your pc is using 2 ram cards then try removing one of them and then boot up your pc. If your pc works then put back the other stick of ram.

If that doesn't work then....I don't know. You should have a mechanic look at it. (If smoke came out of your pc then that means you should get a new one)

U better pray its only your motherboard. By doing that you could easily have short curcuited your processor also. I am not a total techie and maybe ur motherboard is ok. My suggestion is talk to the dealers and company. Ur comp could be totally f***ed. Good luck buddy. Also try taking out the ram and putting back in, or putting in new stuff. If not try reconnecting your moniter and mouse and keyboard. Maybe u just lost connecting. Again contact your dealers and comp company to ask them.
