Ok I see allot of questions about what is your favorite breed. My question is what breed scares you?

I dont like chihuahua's but they dont scare me. Chows scare me, and well uncontrollable dogs (any breed) scares me. But I want to know a breed that you are scared of.

I would have to say Chow Chows. (I do know some that are sweet but when I first meet them they scare me... dont know why they just do)

Update:

Ok Chows scare me ( mostly the black ones...) the ones I have seen have bared their teeth at me.

My mothers chow bite someone and now he like to growl at everyone. Dont think he would bite me, but dont want to take the chance either.

Thanks all.

And yes I do blame the people end of the leash, but some dogs just scare me... Not saying the dogs are bad just that they scare me.

Update 2:

Yes Golden Gal the little ones terrify me... But I am not scared of them... You can punt them lol... (I would never do that guys).

I think they like to bite ankles cause ankles are tasty...lol

Update 3:

Chuckles.. that is funny.. fingers are not carrots and horses are smarter than that. lol

I am not scared of pitt bulls you guys are funny... I am also scared of dogs that jump and growl and snapp at you.. but that is not a breed.

I still stick with chows... sorry guys and I own Dobermans...

The breed that scares me most is the breed that is at the OTHER end of the leash that do not know what they're doing with their dogs. Especially when that person has a bully breed, such as an apbt, staffy, rottie, etc. That really scares me.

The only breeds of dogs that I am uneasy around, are chihuahua's, pomeranians, and other little dogs, but ONLY when their owners are carrying them around in a little pink bag with a skirt on and a bow in their hair. You just KNOW that dog has socialization and behavioral issues.

There is not one breed that I am scared of. But untrained owners that do not make their dogs mind is what kinda makes me look twice over my shoulders. When an owner Say's oh he won't bite, watch out. They are the most untrusting kind of owner. They do not teach their dogs obedience as they do not have enough smarts to take a dog to a class or to work with them to be ideal citizens....If I really have to think about it....people scare me....there truly are some sick individuals in this world of ours and they should not own pets....

Some people do not know how to raise the breed they own. Different breeds have different personality's and ways...and if you do not research..then don't own that breed.

I am not scared by breeds. I am scared by individuals; either dogs or humans. I am wary of Chows, based on their tendency to be especially reserved amongst strangers. However, I will hold no grudge or hesitance toward a socialized Chow Chow.

Not One breed scares me, it's what the owners are like.

My favorite breed that I'd love is a Siberian Husky, Great Dane or Shiba Inu. But I'm very content with my German Shepard Mix ^_^

all of my best dogs have been mixed breeds(including lab chow mixes), But my basset hound was awesome ^_^

Awww.... I love Chow Chows, I grew up with one when I was little, he was very gentle and friendly. That's probably why they don't scare me.... I can't wait to get another :D

I have to agree with you that any uncontrollable (or we should say *uncontrolled*) dog scares me, regardless of size/breed.

I can't say that I'm really scared of any breed in particular. I've generally had great experiences so far in my life, with many, many breeds. As has been said, the scariest thing is often the *person* on the other end of the leash.

Add: For the sake of *somewhat* answering your question, I can say that Chinese Crested dogs kind of creep me out!

I am not afraid of any breed. I believe in approaching any dog, no matter what breed, with caution and respect. I haven't found that I have any fear of any particular breed over another.

However...I have groomed dogs over the last 20 years and of all breeds, the Scottish Terrier scares me the most when clipping nails!

I have been bitten many times by Jack Russel's but I sill adore them. But when ever I meet a new JRT I am very weary of actually getting to close. :(

I am not afraid of a specific breed but any untrained dog makes my hair stand up.

    i) They could cause me or someone else serious harm

ii)How can someone NOT train there dog? Is what scares me more. Is is laziness , arrogance? who knows but It does my head in seeing out of control dogs who have only one person to blame and that is its owner.

There are not that many breeds out there that scare me but if i had to answer this question i would go for the English Bull Terrier, mostly because of their long faces, to me they look strange but i have heard that their temperaments are nice.

I wouldn't have one and i find it a little uncomfortable to look at them but i wouldnt treat one any differently just because it looks different.

i just say they have strange faces and they do give me a little uneasy feeling.

I once worked at a boarding kennel in St. Louis, way back in my youth.

There was a Bouvier De Flanders that would stay there on occasion and he scared the crap out of me. He'd go nuts anytime one of us passed his kennel..... and I swear, all I'd see is fur and teeth and drool flying in his rage. Jeeze....that dog was frightening!!!

Basically, it's an individual issue for me rather than a breed issue.
