How do our bothers and sisters north of the border feel about no Canadian teams making it into the?

confence finals?

Update:

Sorry meant to say Confrence

Update 2:

Spaceboy-I know that Canadian players dominate the game and respect the fact that Canada is the motherland to the sport of hockey. That is why I asked the question. You don't hear me asking Florida residents how they feel about none of their teams making into the playoffs at all do ya.

I had a conversation about this just this morning. Many Canadians tend to just root for the Canadian teams but I think they are more of the casual type of fan....rah rah rah for the hometeam.

The fact is teams like the Flyers have much more Canadian content than a team like the Habs anyway.

I think you will see them now rooting for teams that have players from their home towns.

Source(s): TOM....MLB "STAR" Matt Stairs? LOL Actually, I found out this week-end that Matt coaches a hockey team in Maine until spring training starts and then he has to leave early. While he is a good New Brunswick boy, "star" is not the appropiate word to be sure. You must be a Blow Jays fan as well.

I am sure they are a little disapointed. It is a curious question seeing that Canadians feel that its a Canadian sport. I think money has a lot to do with the sucess of any team, especially in Canada. So, it's doubly frustrating to see a non Canadian team make it to the Conference finals. But what makes hockey so great is the mix of players from all countries playing on different teams so even if your Canadian team didn't make it, there are a lot of home town heroes on every team to not be too upset. I am sure the #1 seeded Canadians are very disapointed in their season although they have a bright future in their young goalie.

Naturally I am disappointed that there are no Canadian teams left, but as a fan of the game I'll be watching right up until the Stanley Cup is presented.

NHL playoffs down to the conference finals, the world championships going on, and the Memorial Cup starts in ten days. It's a great time of year to be a hockey fan!

I'm sure they feel the same way people in Minnesota do. Disappointed their NHL team(s) didn't make it, but know their respective homelands are far superior to most others at producing hockey talent.

Even if a Canadian team doesn't win a cup for another 50 years, Canada is still the Country of Hockey, because they love the game as a culture far more than any other.

It doesn't really matter.. Just because the Canadian teams didn't make it we're not gonna die. We're obviously gonna gonna get down when our team doesn't make it.. and we also don't like every Canadian team. I personally don't like the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs because I am from Montreal, but that's just normal for a canadiens fan..

As Canadians, we like some American teams, not everyone is racist.. only the idiots..

One of my favorite teams in the NHL is the Detroit Red Wings, and I'm also rooting for the Dallas Stars because they have some pretty awesome players.

For conclusion, we do not feel pain for Canadian teams not making it to the Finals, but every once in a while it would be nice to see one win.

Being from Vancouver, im still waiting on our team to make it to the end. It would be nice to see a canadian team make it to the cup but teams are formed with hockey players from everywhere so it sort of doesnt feel completely like a canadian team. The Olympics is when you see Canada vs. USA or Russia.... those are real Canadian teams.

To quote Habs fan and MLB star Matt Stairs. I'll just have to cheer for the other 60-80 Canadians still playing in the playoffs.

Matt Stairs by the way is a former Montreal Expo and is second in career home runs for a Canadian born player. Not bad for an east coaster.

I love it, being a resident of Canadian border city I take a lot of heat every season for cheering for the wings. I know fans of all 6 Canadian teams and each and every one of them have let me know. I don’t think I could have taken it if the Habs ended up playing the wings in the final lol (It was dark times for me when the oilers and flames eliminated the wings)

very discouraged despite there are lots of Canadians playing on all the other teams. Just don't get why, if the proportions are similar, we don't do better. Is it the money? the cap has helped a bit. even if Edmonton didn't get into the playoffs, they had a good run toward the end & we were happy, playing to sold-out crowds. Sigh. thank you for calling me your brother & sister anyway!

Doesn't change much, after the home team goes down I cheer for a team I like, regardless of where they play.

When Edmonton made the finals I was cheering for them, last year for the ducks against Ottawa. As a hockey fan I cheer for teams I like and respect.

Now it looks like I am going with the Flyers and Dallas.
