Do you believe in BRAIN WASHING ?
I believe that Christians are being brain washed ! Do you think these scriptures scriptures PROVE it ?
Ephesians 5:25-27 ...... Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it : That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water BY THE WORD. That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing ; but that it should be HOLY and without blemish.

Titus 3:5 ......... Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, BY THE WASHING OF REGENERATION, and RENEWING of the Holy Ghost; which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour.

The term "Brain Washing" is viewed by most as a negative thing, but I can see how the tables could turn for a positive one.
The FIRST "Brain Washing" took place in the garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. EVERYTHING God made was good, including the way they thought, until they entertained words that were contrary to God's. This brought about a Negative Brain Washing.
It wasn't until the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, that a positive brain washing began. It's described this way: "Be not conformed to this world, but be ye TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING of your mind."
So, its not so much whether or not you believe in Brain washing, as it is WHO'S WASHING YOUR BRAIN!

I don't think the texts you mention have anything to do with brainwashing. Maybe it happens in some rigid belief style Christian denominations, just as it may happen in any other religion where the cult has very rigid beliefs, and all must rigidly adhere to them.
Brainwashing does not happen in the denomination of Christianity I'm in, and I doubt it happens very often in any mainline Christian denomination.
I'm just guessing here, but I think that you want to believe that all Christians are brainwashed to give yourself an excuse to diss the religion.
I gotta tell you: THAT DOG WON'T HUNT.
Lots of Christians -- quite possibly most of us -- have arrived at our beliefs through a lot of thought and prayer over a period of years.
We are not unbalanced folks, for the most part.
Remember, a few wackos in a group does not mean everyone in that group is wacko.
I'm sure we've all run into some wacko godless folks as well, and that doesn't mean that all godless folks are wacko. I have several friends who have no religious inclination, and they're just fine. Some of them are even moral people (gasp!).
So, if you say all [fill in the blank] are [nasty adjective], it reflects more on you than on them.

Yes, I believe in brain washing. However, your question is biased:
brain·wash·ing
1. a method for systematically changing attitudes or altering beliefs, originated in totalitarian countries, esp. through the use of torture, drugs, or psychological-stress techniques.
2. any method of controlled systematic indoctrination, esp. one based on repetition or confusion: brainwashing by TV commercials.
3. an instance of subjecting or being subjected to such techniques: efforts to halt the brainwashing of captive audiences.
Technically, we're all "brain washed" by something.

Yes.
I believe in this definition of brain washing.
It is washing away stinking thinking.
Truth is that we are being washed regularily every day. And we still have spots & wrinkles in our flesh. So? I guess we have to wait until resurrection day to be truly brain washed. Where we stand before Him; Spirit, soul & everlasting body; standing Holy & blameless & In Love.

If a brain is dirty, it needs to be washed.
I pray to God that I am brain washed. I know that I am heart washed, and life washed. and something you may not understand, I am blood washed.
I wish I was brainwashed as you speak of it. I praise God when I get out of bed in the morning that I was able to get out of bed. I praise God that I have something to eat for breakfast, I praise God that I have transportation and fuel to go to work. I praise God for my job and that I can do it pretty well. I praise Him for my lunch each day, and when I go home, I praise God for my home in the country on 17 beautiful acres. I praise God for a wife and family that know Him personally. And when I go to bed at night, I praise God that He has kept me strong and I pray that He will keep me through the night. And if He keeps me well through the night and I wake up the next day, I start it all over again. Is that being brainwashed, I sure hope so.

Those scriptures do not prove it. The idea of being brain washed by God is very attractive. Teilhard de Chardin said,
"I am not a human being having spiritual experiences, but a spiritual being having a human experience."

Yes, I believe there is such a thing as brain washing.
We are all subject to this from birth.
Parents, siblings, friends, school, church, college, politics,
philosophy, etc,etc,etc!!!
Some call it culture, beliefs, background!!!
I periodically wash my own dirty mind, for kicks!!

The public school system is very good at brain washing, after all look what they have done to you. I prefer my brains dry cleaned.

Yes, I believe most religious and patriotic beliefs owe a great deal to brainwashing.
Tell a little kid ridiculous, preposterous things....and convince him/her that YOU believe them. This part is important; if the kid can see that you don't believe it, he/she won't either. Kids pick up on stuff like that.
Keep doing this for years, intensively. That's how you get the next generation to believe things that are plainly b.s.

I wouldn't say those scriptures prove anything in relation to brainwashing.
"Brainwashing (also known as thought reform or as re-education) consists of any effort aimed at instilling certain attitudes and beliefs in a person — beliefs sometimes unwelcome or in conflict with the person's prior beliefs and knowledge." (Wikipedia)
Those scriptures don't do that.
