iPod only supports videos in mp4, H2.64 video format. If not, you may try some third party software. There are some free video converters for iPod, such as Videora, SUPER. They are free, but always do the work without the good performce. Nowadays, there are so many similar not free ipod converteres in the market. You should try your best to choose the best one. I recommend Cucusoft DVD to iPod Video Suite to convert DVD movie and convert videos in any format to iPod. It is the fastest converter I have used. You can download this software free from here

Also, here is the step by step guide about converting DVD, Videos, Flash and Youtube videos to iPod video. It works great.

    Yes, you can.

    First you need a PC.

Install itune software on the PC. Through the itune you can put the files from DVD to your ipod.

If you are talking about DVD movies you have, you need to convert and rip those movies to your computer and then convert the riped movies into MP4 to be able to use iTunes to load them onto your iPod.

This is a usefull program to do what I just talked about,
