premature babies?

when i was 33 weeks pregnant with my son my waters broke and he came along 5 days later, so he was around 6 weeks to early. im nearly 19 weeks pregnant with my second baby now and i was just wondering what the chances are that this baby will be early as well?

also my first labour was only about 5 hours long, which was 6 years ago now, do you think that my labour this time will be alot faster? should i get to the hospital fairly quickly?

Update:

i know i was lucky to have a short labour but i would gladly have gone through 100 hours of labour if i had of been able to take my baby home with me when i went home instead of having to visit him in the hospital every day for 4 weeks. and it would have been nice to breastfeed him properly instead of having to express my milk so they could tube feed him.

Just because your first was born early is no reason to worry that this one will be too. I honestly wouldn't count on a labor faster than 5 hours. I hope you know how lucky you were.

WOW, I can't believe they let you go 5 days with broken waters before they delivered your baby! That's crazy...

Anyway, the answer to your question is yes, most of the time. Hopefully this baby won't be born at 33 weeks, but most of the time if you have a preemie, you are more apt to have early subsequent deliveries as well. You may also be treated as high risk this time because of your past experience. That way if you go into labor too early (like 33 weeks) they maybe able to catch any problems and monitor you, put you on bed rest, or stop labor if it happens.

OMG! The same exact thing happened to me. With your second pregnancy your doctor should give a option around 33 weeks to give you a weekly shot that delays early delivery.

well its a whole different pregnancy so you cant really tell when you will have this one,my son was also born 5 weeks early and i had a quick labor and dilivery! so i dont know if your labor will be the same but i hope it is for you! good luck
