How should I get into shape for football?
I'm thinking about getting into JV football next year as a Sophomore. I'm not big, (5'7" 125-30 lbs), right now I'm a freshman, what should I do to get into shape? I'm thinking about joining as a DB, probably at safety. I'm in track right now. Thanks.
I think I'm already in better cardio shape than a lot of the people... Right now I'm running the 400/800 for track.
Lol, in track we're running like 3 miles at least every day....so much for the running a mile idea.
Also, I've been benching 80-90 (terrible, I know) in sets of 15 reps to build strength at home.

Firt step. Get your butt off the computer. You're never gonna get fit for football if the first thing that you did today is asked this question. Run a mile or two maybe more every week.or try getting like 50-70 pushups everyday then do like 100+ sittups.

you should get a head start by running do alot of running get your cardio up and then start going to every summer practice with your team and your coaches will go over about how to lift weights and what weights you should do!! if u wanna be a DB or a SS or FS u need to be qick have quick instincts and u cant be scared to hit someone or tackle! so u should sork on alot of legs and upper body u got to have strong shoulders an strong arms so u should get a start on it now

A football is shaped like an egg. Why would you want to look like an egg?
