Anyone a member of YARS DUCKs group?

Hi all.

I was wondering who here is a member of YARSduck group.

I'd been part of it for about 3 weeks and only posted one question, asking if more LDS people could read my questions on Yahoo answers, and have since been removed by the moderator.

I tried to explain my situation and she said I was a "wolf in sheeps clothing." :-(

Anyway, one of the reasons I wanted to join that group was because I wanted to talk to a Mormon community specifically about my doubts cause I appreciate all the responses I get from everyone but I feel some that aren't LDS don't know where I'm coming from as well.

Anyway, I'm not "a wolf in sheep's clothing" thanks, I'm LDS. :-/

Secondly, the moderator said I was several people think I'm anti. I'd really really really really like to know from the people that are kind enough to help me with my questions and are a member of YARSducks,

Are my questions offensive?

That's not my goal...

Update:

Side note: Someone said they read my question and responded to a question asked by "unsettled duck."

Is this why I was banned? Maybe people are getting me mixed up because of the "confused" vs. "unsettled" part. I don't know what's going on...

Secondly if I DID offend someone with my questions PLEASE let me know either on here or via email. I won't argue with you don't worry :-). Feelings are legitimate. I probably won't stop asking questions that are important to me, but I'll try as best as I can to stop whatever I'm doing that is offensive (without stopping my questions).

I'm just hoping this was a misunderstanding and I'm getting confused...

Thanks.

I'm not a big fan of "ex-communication" from a Yahoo Group if you haven't violated any of the so-called rules. You ask questions that obviously concern you. You are one of my contacts and will remain so. I have no fear of you or you questioning your faith. I'm sorry you have been prejudged.

Word to the wise - You know how Y!A puts asterisks in place of certain words? Or how some questions just don't post onto the main page? All the evidence suggests that Y!A has filters for certain words and phrases. It appears that "JPA" is one they filter for. Might even be nothing more than the simple fact that it isn't a word. Whichever it is, your 'question' is a violation of TOS because it calls someone (in this case a group) out. So if a Y!A filter draws it to the attention of a moderator, it could very well be deleted without ever having been reported. Just something to keep in mind.

The short answer is I confused you with unsettled duck. I emailed you in response to your last email to me. I truely am sorry for the mistaken identity. You are NOT a "wolf in sheep's clothing." It does not excuse what I said, or my behavior, but I am sorry. The members of YARSducks are nice people, even if my email to you did not reflect that. Please give us a second chance. I'm sure the YARSducks members would love to be able to answer any of your questions.

To my knowledge your questions have not been offensive.

There's another user called "unsettled duck". They claim to be LDS but just post anti-Mormon stuff and usually pick the most hateful response as the "best" answer.

I guess someone thought you were the same person. Personally, I haven't gotten that impression.

  • How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.
  • I'm not a member of any duck club--so I don't know about that.

However, you are not the only one who has ever questioned your beliefs and should not feel that you can't have your legimate questions answered. We all have them from time to time. I know I do. I think that it is only healthy to have them.

The only problem is: Is this the best place to have them answered? Maybe not. You will get a lot of inacurracy, preaching, ranting, and mean nasty, flippant answers because not everyone that uses this board is here to give serious answers that will be beneficial to you.

Also--are your questions accusatory in nature? Sometimes, it's not what you ask, it's how you ask it. You have to be sensitive to how others feel.

I think there is confusion between who unsettled duck yourself. I read through Kevin F profile, but didn't see similarities between it and that of unsettle duck's. I wonder if your emails are similar.....

I can't answer for the leaders of the group for what they did.

But you asked some problemic questions yesterday that i believe made some people uneasy about you

Like your question on church history and how you asked why don't members have problems with it.

Another talking about doctrines which aren't LDS doctrine like Adam-God and other things.

I just submitted a request to join.... she's considering me...

I'm always more than willing to answer any questions I can so ask away....

I can usually discern between a WOLF and a real questioner.

If you are truly sincere, I'd email Tonya and explain the situation.

Perhaps you were wording the questions in too blunt a way or too rude a way. Who knows?

  • Turns out that the religious really can't handle tough questions, and find it much easier to rid themselves of people like yourself no matter how genuine.

If questioning your faith illicits that type of response from the faithful in the LDS religion perhaps it is untrue.

Why beg to be let back into a group of people with trigger fingers?
