Why are the sheets always so cold?

The bed is made, and even when it's warm, why do the sheets always get so cold??

Sheets will be room temperature which is usually cooler than body temperature so they will feel cool on your skin.

Room temperature is rarely as warm as your body temperature and the sheets start out at a cooler temperature than a person.

When the sheet touches you, the warmth of your skin quickly flows to the fabric and cools you until the sheet warms.

Most woven sheets are good at conducting heat away from you.

I like to use flannel sheets in the winter. This weave leaves a much smaller number of threads touching the skin and so does not conduct heat away as well. It’s feels warm and cozy as soon as you touch them.
