How do I hook 2 monitors up to the same computer?

I'm trying to use my 47" HDTV and a Samsung SyncMaster 710n hooked up to the same computer. I use Windows XP pro with sp2. Its fine up until the windows login screen then i lose the little one and only the big one gets a signal. Any ideas?

Depends if you have an ATI or NVIDIA card. Basically you have to go to the control panel for your video card drivers and play around with the monitor, dual-panel or extended desktop settings. Actually you might even be able to get away with that just by right clicking on your Desktop, going to Properties, and then the settings tab (that is, if both of your devices show up as two individual monitors).

It can be done. It -is- doable. :)
