Is it just a place to hang out? And I've heard about some loathsome figures there...
Or, say, if you want to gain some expertise in a certain field, could you REALLY meet some helpers YOU COULD TRUST? (And what about anonymity and security, too?)

no its not a waste of time..as long as you have a control on urself and as long as u use it wisely..then it shouldn't be a waste of time....anything could be a waste of time, you just have to use it at it's proper time

Uh yeah its a waste of time, imagine all the people with no lives at all sitting on their computers up loading pictures and trying to increase the number of friends they have on the net.
There is a word for such people.........loosers.

How can u trust someone u meet online? No website is 100% secure if thats what u r asking. Anyone with a bit of hacking experience could open up a profile in a blink of an eye.

Facebook is essentially a Myspace clone (or vise-versa, depending on release dates), If you dont like Myspace you wont like Facebook

facebook is both cos i cnt be boverd to look at application that ma friends invite me to join but its quite good
