Propane Regulator?

Can a 8 - 12 pound regulator be used on a small propane refrigerator or is that too much? Is that considered a high pressure regulator for use with a secondary low pressure one close to the refrigerator??

NO! An 8-12 pound regulator is a high pressure first stage regulator. The line pressure for propane should be 11" in a water column. This is less than 1/2 psi.Yes you will need a second stage low pressure regulator or a 2-stage regulator at the tank.If you are using a second stage regulator it doesn't necessarily need to be close to the refrigerator as it should be installed outside the building. In some cases regulators can be installed inside but would need to have the vent run to a termination point outside the building. This is something that is not done very often and should be avoided. It is also illegal to run 12 psi into a building
