2) In theory... irrespective of how many are racing, in order to pass the last person I and all others would have had to lap him. Therefore, unless I passed other runners in the race or other runners past me, I could be in the same position as I was when we all lapped the last person.

That is unless there are only two of us in the race. Then I would still be # one.

2) if you overtake the last person in the race, that means that you would have to have lapped him, meaning you could be in either first to second to last position. In order to overtake someone you'd have to be behind them. There is no one behind the last person.

2. how could you overtake the last person in a race, if you'd do that than youd have to be in the race but what place would you be in to overtake the guy last place, this means that the guy in last place overtakes you and you fall to last place, otherwise it would not make sence (sorry for the long sentence, i tend to write what i think)
