Do You Like Stuffed Grape Leaves?
I ate at a Creek restaurant today, and picked up a vegetarian stuffed grape leaf off the buffet. It was, I can honestly say, the NASTIEST thing I have EVER put in my mouth! WTH?! It tasted like fingernail polish, if I had to label it. It had almost a metalicy taste. Is this normal? WHO eats this? Why do you like it? Are there other people out there who honestly think it's the nastiest thing ever?

I love them, but they have to be made right. One time I had some that were soaked in vermouth, which calls to mind that fingernail polish flavor you speak of.
I don't like those. Most of the time, they are soaked in lemon juice and olive oil, which is very tasty.

I think grape leaves on a buffet table might taste like garbage! But most grape leaves are tasty! It all depends on who has made them, I have had some really tasty ones and really icky ones!

They we're probably canned one's which are incredibly nasty. Homemade ones are actually pretty good (especially lamb ones). I prefer vietnamese grape leaves to greek ones. No rice, just stuffed with yummy beef and nice hoisin and vinegar dipping sauce on the side.

You probably found one with a garlic clove in it. They are usually pretty good.
