Do you think people will ever learn?

That fad diets and diet pills are not effective and safe methods for losing fat and becoming healthier.

Or are we stuck with the "I want to lose weight fast" attitude forever?

"You can fool some of the people all of the time..."

There's certainly a market for weight loss and as long as there are people willing to pay; sure there's going to be someone making money. This also brings to mind all of those infomercials selling exercise equipment.

Browsing around Yahoo Answers there are lots of people tapped into the information highway and still hold to uninformed, dated, and biased opinions, attitudes, and views.

Many people do not embrace the new, what's different, or change.

I think that there are people that will eventually learn to lose in a healthy way. I finally did by educating myself on a lot of things. But we live in a time where instant gratification is every where. And if a diet promises to help you lose 30 pounds in 30 days, then to a person that is ignorant to what proper dieting is, is going to be taken in to this gimic. Even if they have some clue to losing weight corectly they will give it a try. People don't have the patience to take time to lose one pound a week because they want to see results quick. And as long as these fad diets keep popping up people are going to keep trying them. There needs to be more education in school on proper eating and more media about it aswell. Then people might start paying a little more attention.

unfortunately we are (USA) a pill popping, want it now with little or no effort nation with a severe obesity problem...just look at our kids...when I was in school we didn't have all the "choices" in the cafeteria and were MADE to go to PE (Phys Ed). I do believe there is a vast majority of people who want to live and eat more healthy but here again...we have mostly been forced to live lives that do not allow the necessary time or have the opportunity to always buy healthy...

We live in fast world. Sadly, people will forever fall for quick solution promise. But i think there is hope that the general awarness of healthy food and its importance may worm itself into people's brains over the generations.

People can learn that the best way to reduce your fat is to take good exercise that will burn the fats and cut down on the eating, and refrain from eating oily food. (fatty food). Conscientizing people can help them from having side effects on their body in the future because of having the notion that pills can reduce them.

Everyone wants the quick easy way out but sooner or later, we must face the music....What you get for nothing is usually good for nothing.....weight loss must turn to weight management by living a complete new life style with healthy foods, good exercise habits and feeding your mind and soul daily with good stuff too.
