Answer removed for "violation"?

The other day I had an answer removed due to "solicitation" when it was nothing of the sort, however that was no option to appeal the decision. I went back and looked, only to see that the whole question had been removed. I should also mention that I had been awarded best answer for that same post before this happened.

Any idea why this happened?

As for the solicitation I was accused, well the only thing I can assume is that one of the resident collection agents in the credit section was unhappy with my answer educating someone on how to fight a collection agency. My answer contained several links that had resources to the FDCPA, FCRA and Statue of limitations of debts, but that is all.

I've had those type of answers taken down before but I always appealed and won.

Soliciting is when you are asking us for something. Without knowing the exact wording it is just speculation.

You don't have any grounds to appeal, if the entire question was removed. That means not just your answer, but ALL answers were removed. There must have been something seriously wrong for the whole thing to have been removed. While it cost you the 10 points for Best Answer, I believe I'd shake it off and go on from here. In the 2+ years I've been muddling about here, I've had numerous violations, and in fact, am appealing one right now. They don't listen too well, do they?!?

    Hi.

While I am unable to explain the reason you were not given an appeal link in your Email, I am able to provide you the appeal link alternatively.

    (Appeal)

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/first_app...

Remember to sign in with the account you were reported with, then elaborate on your issue to the Staff.

At this moment, none of us may be able to answer to why you never received an appeal link in your Email, but I assume it was because the question was also deleted, hence if you appealed your answer successfully while the question was correctly removed, you won't have your answer restored.

    Take care.

    EDIT:

Just to add more information: When a best answer is removed through Community report or CC ( Customer Care) as violation of the Community Guidelines, the associated question is also removed automatically.

I smell a stinky debt collector! Some people really take this Yahoo Answers way to far.

I'm thinking......that if I report someone, it would've had to been really offensive, not simply b/c disagreed with his/her answer. That's so ridiculous.

I say fight/appeal it. I hope you get your ten points back.

Your Credit answers are always awesome and people should stop being such haters!

    Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yahoo seems to be going crazy just now,i've seen LOADS of questions today with people asking similar questions and having questions and answers removed which haven't breached the "community" guidelines.

I myself had the same question removed THREE times today and there was nothing wrong with what i asked.

Something needs to be done about how Y/A's run.

If a question or answer was removed

and you don't agree it was in violation

    you can appeal

    when you appeal

    you will be asked

    why are you appealing

    deletion of question

    deletion of answer

    if your account was deleted.

    or others

They will also ask you to mention part of your answer

if its a question give info on the question or answer that was in violation.

The more info you give the better they can help you

    and quickly to investigate

Source(s): You can appeal by going in the http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=answers

Who polices the police? What is the point of having a community or laws that govern, if there are really no rules, or rules that we know, and you can't appeal them, and feel that you have been fairly and evenly treated. If no one can answer these questions, and they continue to happen, what then?
