I thank all the wacko conservationists who are doing a fine job getting us to the point where we cannot afford to own cars. No drilling. No nuclear energy.

Do you thank the republicans who held the house, senate, and white house (with a conservative supreme court) for doing NOTHING from 2000 til 2006. I think six years is enough time to pass a bill, get the prez to sign it, and turn in to law.
BTW you can drill and pump all the oil you want and it won't make a dent because the same republicans didn't pass any legislation to help refiners who have the same basic capacity as they did 20 years ago.
And I acknowledge the Democrats have done nothing also. Both parties have played patty-cake with each other on this.

Why are you blaming the Democrats?
Think this over a bit.
In the first place, the EPA was one of Nixon's, a Republican, landmark legislation. The EPA came to us thru the Republican party.
Secondly, the Republicans had complete control of both houses in congress from 1996 to 2006. For ten years they had the power to do anything they wanted. If they wanted to open up more sites for drilling, they would have.
And lastly, not drilling for oil in new sites is serving the interest of both liberals and conservatives. The liberals get their feel good shivers over stopping big business. The conservatives get bigger campaign contributions from big business because big business is making big bucks from limited supply in high demand.
It's you who are getting the raw end of the stick from both sides.

No I curse the oil companies who are raking it in hand over fist. Their profit is in in the billions each month. That is profit not net.
Other than ANWAR we have been drilling in America, all over Texas, California, Colorado, Wyoming, etc etc. We can still access the oil under ANWAR, we have the ability to drill sideways and slants. Just the super rich oil companies don't want to spend anything extra, so I curse them still.

No I don't thank them or blame them. Drilling oil on American soil is not the answer. The answer is establishing a comprehensive plan to end foreign oil dependency and preserve our assets.

I thank the greedy bastards who run the oil companies. Along with their republican hand puppets who rubber stamp their policies and refuse to get tough with their windfall profits.
I'd be very willing to have more atomic power plants and refineries built. As long as the pollution and waste is dumped in the back yards of the people who create it.

There are a whole host of liars you need to thank. Starting
with Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush. And every congress they had sit under them. For they laid the ground
work for all of this to happen.

All I ever hear from people is how Bush and Cheney are for big oil. However, they want to drill off shore, open up Alaska, utilize nuclear and coal from this country. On the other side I hear Harry Reid say we Democrat's will never allow Alaska or any other federally owned land to be utilized for the energy needs of America. Whats wrong here is the people who put these jerks in office. I'm sorry but screw the tree huggers, at 4+ a gallon it's going to be long winter in the Northeast........

Lol, if you think that's the reason for the high prices you're really funny. We also have the devalued dollar and China and India to blame. Oh, and why didn't the Republican controlled Congress and President then start drilling during those 6 years? I didn't see any proposals coming out.

I really think its time to start building and making our own synthetic fuels.. Coal gasification or other like the stuff that the geniuses at the Los Alamos labs came up with.
